App AI-based Virtual Race Engineer incl. automated Pitstop Handling

This is the first release of the new year and it is huge. The most important addition is for sure the full support for strategy and pitstop handling for Le Mans Ultimate. But also rFactor 2, iRacing and even RaceRoom Racing Experience got some love, since it is now possible, to control the selected tyre compound and whether the tyre should be changed at all for individual tyres at the upcoming pitstop. The Release Notes contain detailed information about all that.

Main feature of todays release is the added support for loading, editing and writing of setup files by the "Setup Workbench" AI for Le Mans Ultimate and also for rFactor 2. This has been around for some time for AC and ACC, but is now also supported for LMU and rF2. All current car models for Le Mans Ultimate are already included, but for rFactor 2 no car meta data is included yet.

Many small improvements and fixes for allmost all simulators are part of yesterdays release. Most important is the support for a full weather forecast in Le Mans Ultimate. And we have the first car meta data for the supoort of rFactor 2 in "Setup Workbench".

Major feature for todays release: You no longer have to create a strategy in advance for short (sprint) races with some required pitstops. Instead, supply the race rules in "Race Settings" and the Strategist will create a strategy on the fly.



IMPORTANT for AMS2 users: The pitstop request is no longer done automatically after the Enginerr planned an prepared a pitstop, since this can lead to confusion, if done more than once. There is a setting in the "Session Database" to restore the previous behaviour.

Main feature for this Release: The Driving Coach can now give you immediate feedback once you have passed a corner and the following section. The feedback will include a detailed comparison of your performance compared to the previous lap incl. hints where you can still improve. See the following video for a very short demonstration:



Beside that the new rule-based strategy handling introduced with the last release got tweaked a bit. Also we have fixed the iRacing track mapping, which is also required for the Driving Coach and the list of rFactor 2 GT3 cars supported by the "Setup Workbench" is now complete.

Took the plunge and downloaded this suite, but I can't seem to access it while in game.... what am I missing lol

 

Difficult to say, since I do not know what you are doing. Most obvious question: You have configured at least the Assistants and you started SC by clicking on the "Startup" button in "Simulator Startup"?

If still struggling, come on our Discord. Plenty of help there.

 

I did the basic set up option and got the chequered flag, and I've got the 2 ai brains floating either side of my desktop lol

The AI brains is the test mode for voice recognition. You have to run the app "Simulator Startup" and start everything from there using the button with the green triangle, before you start a session in your sim.

 

So once I've started using the green triangle (startup standard) I can go and start a practice session, to map a track and use race coach? Sorry to take your time asking on the forum btw I appreciate the help

 

Yes, run a few clean laps until you have a decent track map. Then define the sections you are interested in. If the track map has errors, you can delete it in the "Administration tab of the "Session Database" and start over. After that, you can use the Coach. If you don't have a connection to a GPT service, the instructions given by the Coach will be quite basic, nevertheless a good way to test everything.

 

So I got the coach/spotter talking to me when I start a lap, then cannot get them to respond again after. It has updated the settings with the car and track I was using, but no track map yet. Need to experiment more, and currently having to exit R3E to go back to the sim suite then restart game so takes me ages going back and forth.... I'm better with engines than computers haha

 

Best way to do it, tweak SC and restart and also restart the session in R3E. Quite fast...

 

I mean that I start SC, then start RR, then I have to exit RR back to desktop to go to SC, then start the RR app again from scratch everytime. Is there a way to have the SC running on top of RR? I've also added the SC on discord

 

I use Alt-Tab to switch back to the Desktop when in Pause in R3E. Then use Alt-Tab as well to go back to the game.

The main focus of todays release is quality for the most part. Many fixes and small improvements, especially we found the AMS2 session startup issue, that has been around for some time now. Beside that, there are several improvements for the Race Engineer, which now can give you many information like remaining fuel or tyre temperatures with much improved actuality and accuracy.

Once again many fixes and small additions this time. But there are also some cool new features included:

- You can now supply the names of corners when defining the sections of a track. These names will be used in various places throughout Simulator Controller then, most notably for the Driving Coach, who will reference upcoming corner by name rather than by number, when giving you driving instructions.
- deepseek-r1 can now be used in thinking mode without problems.
- The Race Engineer now prevent preparing a pitstop while you are already in the pitlane, thereby reducing the risk to release the pitlimiter in some simulators.
