In case iRacing will do something wild next year? Maybe it would be a good idea to bring back GT Masters 2026, next to DTM 2026? Just in case to have a BackUp? Or is there another availabe european GT3 series for licensing?
DTM is also organized by the ADAC nowadays, so it wouldn't make a huge difference. The 2026 ADAC GT Masters season has 14 cars participating, so licensing it would be rather pointless anyway.
Yeah okay maybe not from todays view, but maybe from the viewpoint of 2027. And who knows how many cars will be added during the season in GTM, I mean DTM are also "only" 19 cars this year.
Btw : What about Ford & Aston for DTM and Ford, Peugeot & Nissan for Supertourers ? Any news....anything ?
As far as I know, Ford and Aston GT3 are officially confirmed, as well as the Temerario and the Porsche Evo. (GridTalk #8, 26Q1 update). Ford and Aston were planned to be released before the start of the new DTM season, but as round one is next weekend, I'm afraid it will be with the Q2 update. Chris Wacker-Bauer said (in GridTalk #7, 25Q3 update) that bringing the missing three Super Tourers (Mondeo, Primera and Peugeot) is their goal and that they are in the making, but this could also mean 'working on licenses' and that it takes a year or so until one of the cars arrives. In the end - hope for the best, but expect nothing #soon.
They said the Ford and the Aston will maybe come for the final race of the ADAC DTM eSport Championship, if the can finalize them.
There might be a few guest starters in GT Masters, but I honestly think that the series might die soon. DTM at least has 21 cars participating this year.
