I've encountered several bugs and excessive lag in daily races, but never a bug like this where I lost 35,000 rating points, dropping from third place in the world ranking to fifth place.
As soon as the race started, almost all the cars slipped except for those that had a bad start, which were few. My car tires didn't even slip!
Everyone had difficulty getting back on the track; my car was unable to continue.
If this is a simulator that we all think is serious and on par with the best, then this shouldn't happen.
I'll have to pull out my wallet and go back to iRacing, this type of things doesn´t happen here.

From the describtion alone, i had absolutely no clue what you were talking about. I needed to watch the video...and everything was clear. it's not a bug. it is just bad driving (and to be fair a bad decision).
Standing start on Daytona banking is hell, everyone who doesn't practice that just immediately spins out. And if you are unlucky you can place your car in a way upon banking and apron so your wheels don't touch the ground anymore.
Sadly rolling start is still bugged and therefore never used (apart from special events like the 2.4h race soon).
So yeah, practice the start as it's not a bug, just a bad decision to have standing start.

P.S: next time please make a clear describtion, like saying it was about standing start on daytona for example so i didn't have to watch the video ;)

    Translation:
    "I heard!
If I do not want to contradict your opinion, or my start for the run is always the same on this track and never happens like this, because when analyzing the video, the car has a retilinal start without skidding, it does not start and only passes a few meters, without any alteration in the rotation, it deviates to the right. What I cannot say with complete certainty is that, as you say, the car in this circumstance skidded either to the right or to the left.
PS: It is a pleasure to watch this video, but this post does not have the same effect"

I can't really explain the physic behind it :sweatsmile: but other can: the load on the left tyres will be higher than on the right ones and therefore they will be able to transmit more work to the road surface.
And therefore the spins are normal.

Unfortunately, I can't open the video, but I'm very curious to see how the top 3, top 5, top 15, or top 55 in the world spin out at the start with a GT3 car. And even if it's with a DTM 2016, I still find it hard to believe. Isn't there a way to reformat the video somehow? I don't doubt anyone's judgment, I just want to see it with my own eyes...

open it with vlc player. that was the only one working for me :D or wait, let me put it on yt.
    EDIT:

Anyway, it is about the banking, any car would spin out there especially cars without TC like DTM you mentioned. It's not about a normal race start.

Thank you, very interesting! I had never seen anything like this. With my limited knowledge of physics, I explain it to myself by the force of friction. The friction force holds the car in place while it is stopped on the slope of the curve. When the rear wheels start to slip slightly, the friction force stops acting and the rear of the car slides down the slope. I really want to see DTM 16/20 starting grids here on this corner.:D And I'm curious how 4x4 cars would start here...

My wheels didn't slip, I even saw them in slow motion.

Sometimes even seemingly safe spots or maneuvers on the track can turn out to be quite tricky at a certain moment.
Sometimes I’ve gone through a certain turn 10, 20, 30 times and nothing happens, and on the 31st time, suddenly, out of nowhere, you spin out. That’s why you do hundreds of laps – to understand the track at every level and its interaction with a specific car. In other words, if you’ve started there 2, 3, or 4 times and everything went fine, that still might not mean that the spot or maneuver doesn’t hide some trickery in itself that just hasn’t shown up yet.
I'm not entirely sure, but I think this point is valid, with minor variations, for all levels of driving. I would be interested to know what you think about this matter.
Are you still here or are you already at the bank to withdraw money?:D

You are here, thats good :D
It is noticeable that most cars spin out at the steepest part of the turn, as far as I can see. Also, that you start off without any problems at first and are the last to spin out when you have already gained initial speed. In other words, you don’t spin out at the same time as the most of the others. The last green BMW from the outside starts perfectly, almost without spinning. The Porsche from position 6 as well...
I really want to test this situation myself, but I don't have the combo. Maybe during the first free period, if I don't forget by then. Or maybe someone else can experiment in the meantime... Nico?

Dont think theres anything i could add here really. Id consider it well known that a standing start at daytona with a group of drivers who havent practiced it will go very poorly

I understand. What was confusing for me in this case was the colleague's rating and how convinced he is that it's not his fault. But, as the saying goes, you learn as long as you live...

Would generally share that sentiment and its not impossible that it was actually some bug but based on the clip shown theres nothing really indicating that

I'm not convinced that the event wasn't my fault, I didn't write that, at most you read that it could be a bug, that I have some doubts and at the very least I was curious, I don't understand why this confuses you, life simply doesn't continue, life is made of discoveries and nobody ever knows everything.
For example, if you notice, the first Porsche on the grid starts and doesn't skid, it only skids after a few meters which seemed strange to me at the time.
But okay, I already realized that there are problems with the starts on that track.
Thank you for clarifying the incident.
