For the past 2 days, I have been unable to launch RaceRoom. No matter if I double click the icon, launch it through CrewChief or even launch it through Steam, and I never get to the splash screen. I just get the red RaceRoom window, and a cycling cursor. Right now I am validating the game files. Hopefully this fixes the issue. If not, then I am at a complete loss on what to do. I'll report back. Fingers crossed!
Finished validation and tried launching the game. Nothing. The only thing that happens is it becomes non-responsive according to task manager. I don't know if there is anything I can do on my end to fix this.
This is probably a connection issue. Try to reboot your router, try a VPN (Proton or Windscribe have free options).
Rebooted the router, still nothing. I am not too keen on paying for a VPN just to access the game. To me it would be like paying for Xbox Live again, and that is something I wanted to get away from.
Installed Proton and tried launching Raceroom. Still not responding. Before this, I uninstalled Raceroom and reinstalled it on an internal SSD (because it is a different storage drive in my PC). No difference. When I launch the game, it becomes nonresponsive when it is starting.
It's not supposed to respond, that's how this window works. Let it sit there for at least 2-3 minutes. If it still doesn't load then we gotta think of something else. Where are you geographically? There's another thread here with a similar issue, maybe they are related: https://forum.kw-studios.com/index.php?threads/why-has-raceroom-stopped-working.20598/
The US. Its pretty much the same issue as the other thread. I'll go over there and see how it develops. Thanks Maskerader.
I ended up uninstalling Webroot, and the game works fine. Apparently something on Webroot's end is causing it to block/delete Raceroom's -.xml files. Looking at getting a different anti-virus software.
