Lotteries pay out to the winners, these competitions don't. It would be the same if they processed the competitions.

Yes but your argument is based on a temporary situation, which may or may not be resolved.
What I was explaining was that the premium competitions are one of the tools used to promote the purchase of new game content, along with ranked racing e.g. you need a current Gt3/DTM25 skin to race on many ranked servers, even if you own older ones.

Yes, I understand that the concept of the premium competitions and new content. I'm just pointing out the marketing error of having a competition with new content that doesn't pay out. If they only processed the competitions it would be a wise strategy, but at the moment it's just illogical to have new content in premium comps. Ranked races are a different thing of course.

Can confirm. I've done, picking up cars or tracks I had yet to get because I wanted to participate in an event. The reason KWS have let this evaporate might be anything. Maybe their VRP handout system is on the blink, or Captain Coffee is taking his long-delayed sailing trip around the world, or maybe nobody in the office feels like doing it. Could be anything really, as no one from the company has seen fit to comment. The disgruntled can often be mollified by honest and timely communication. I'd even say they could have been out in front of it before this thread took a turn.

Despite the posts, I'm not all that bent out of shape over it. It's rare that I win (random draw), and the VRP is not among my top reasons for participating. Drivers like Denis however have more reason to feel hard done by, as he wins just about every competition he enters, so must have a stack of it coming his way.

A bit late now but the lmdh at spa competition is actually fixed setup while not being marked as such. Couldve saved myself 10 days of keeping an eye on it and contemplating whether i should join had i known that earlier :D

I know a couple weeks have passed, but Nico I've read your post a number of times and still don't know what you mean. Can you expand? You don't enter fixed setup events? Or you only enter fixed setup events? Or neither of those things?

It is mid-April 2026. The last competitions to have been paid out were May of last year. So a couple more weeks of this and we will have gone a year. It's hard to understand why no one associated with the company will pop in here and update us on what is going on and what we should expect. If this is over, say so. If it's not then tell us what is going on. Does no one actually come in here and read this stuff? It's the only explanation that leaves the company with a bit of credibility, as funny as that sounds. Maybe no one realizes that this has been abandoned.

By my math there are roughly 75 competitions to be done if we hit a year. One round every two weeks for a year is 26. We had a gap around New Year's if I recall with no competitions for a couple of weeks, so let's call it 25.

With three premium events each round that's 75.

"Neither of those" seems to be the most fitting option :D.
In that specific case i had spent a lot of time working on the setup and driving with my final setup and with that setup thought i might have a shot at winning the competition so kept an eye on how times developed. But on fixed setup that win was definitely out of reach and i wasnt gonna drive the car in a less enjoyable state than what i was used to just to get a result thats not even noteworthy (remember i dont like hotlapping so it takes special circumstances for me to enter anyways :D)

If I only joined comps I thought I would win I'd never join any of them!

Happy anniversary everyone! A year has gone. I got my first ever top ten two rounds ago in the X-90 at Spa and I might have been drawn for some verp derp. What's the scoop KWS? Can we get an update on this please?

Me neither :D but id like to at least not be too far off. Given that theres nothing i enjoy about the actual taking part in a competition bit i need some kind of external motivator to join. If you simply enjoy hotlapping then thats not needed of course and you can happily join every competition there is :D

    I totally get that.

Why don't you make topping me your enduring goal? Just trying to help ha. I've gone top ten at the Glen for the moment and spent ten and half minutes guiding the Crossle around the Nordschleife with GP bits. Going to give Interlagos a crack in the hypers now I think.

Thanks for the offer but im afraid thats not gonna be enough (and you havent necessarily chosen the best combos if motivating me were the goal) :D
But at this point we might be drifting off topic a bit too far :D

Yes, you're right, my apologies. So back on topic, competitions.

Does the subject of premium rewards come up on Discord? Have they addressed it there?

The charity event last round is a fine idea, White Angel, is it?. I saw it and signed up straight away to post a lap as I'm always keen to do my bit. The livery was just 33 cents I believe, which is nothing at all. Turn out was poor however, with just 400+ laps posted last I looked. Maybe it hit 500 by the end, I don't know. The blurb in the border said a 'portion' of the proceeds would go to the charity, but if you do the math, let's say 500 laps times 33 cents that is $165 raised and come on, don't keep some of it. That's hardly enough to move any needles and I'd say just fork it all over.

This round we have another beat the pro event, in a 911 at Zandvoort. Good combination and I've posted a lap, not a very good one, but I'm always up for it. Beat Bastian Buus' laptime it says. What lap time? Where do I see this? Am I misunderstanding how this is to work? Why is the pro's lap not posted when the competition drops so we actually have a lap time to target?

    Yes, monthly.

The pro seems to not have set a laptime yet but seems like the competition needed to be there. At least last year you could win tickets that way. no idea if it is the same this time again.

To clarify, you are saying it comes up monthly, but I assume is not addressed monthly? Or has it been? If so, what was said?

Soon was said basically. Currently people are probably deep in dtm esports organisation. It's not forgotten, but yeah.

Soon seems to mean never. It's over a year since Premium rewards were paid out. I think it this were important to KWS they would have at least responded, and at best, pay up. The third option has been chosen, ignore.

"Beat the lap time of DTM driver Tom Kalender and win a ticket for the real DTM race at Lausitzring on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 June!"

What is his lap time? These beat the pro events keep coming up and I cannot find the lap time we are attempting to beat. Is this posted somewhere? Or is it unimportant?

    Friend activity still doesn't work.

To counter all this misery, I loved the events at Sachsenring and Interlagos this round, and I posted laps in seven of the eight, skipping the horrible, no good NSU TT event, because I think it's the worst car in sim racing. Pretty nice turnout though, which is good.

The Sachsenring event has 199 entries after nearly two weeks which is a shame. I wonder if the failure to pay out the VRP for the past year has affected participation? Hypers at the Glen is just 290. Interlagos, 324. Premiums have always drawn fewer entrants, but this feels especially low.

I don´t know if the F2P competitions have lower or the same numbers as before but it is the summer so it can be expected. There will also be "winners" who are overdue thousands of VRP who maybe don´t want to bother setting a time for nothing - fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

It´s not a great look but if that´s they way they want to run it, so be it Personally I´d just not bother.

The pro lap time doesn't matter since it's just about topping the leaderboard for the tickets.
