Hi guys, i have a strange problem with Raceroom lately. So i never had any issues before but i haven't played in a while and when i came back to it last week everytime i load up a track and hit drive the game crashes to desktop immediately with no crash report. The thing is when i turn the wheel off (Thrustmaster t818) it doesnt crash so its definitely a conflict between the wheel and raceroom. All wheel and graphics drivers are up to date and there are no issues with the other sims, just raceroom for some reason. I have done the usual - verify Raceroom files on Steam; - rename Documents\My games\SimBin\RaceRoom Racing Experience\BrowserData folder - rename the simbin folder but no joy. Does anyone else have this issue or has anyone got any ideas... Thanks
Just a quick update.....this seems to be a car specific problem....it only crashes to desktop when i select the wtcr 2021 hyundai elantra.....every other car is working without issue....very strange.....
Was the WTCR 2021 free before? If it is then it has changed because now its paid content. If you try that class and it still appears as free then it is not going to work. I don't really know what you should try to do. It is just an idea that probably is the issue.
I don't know if it was free before but I had paid for it anyway so that's not the problem.....it gets even stranger..... there are 7 liveries of the 2021 hyundai wtcr.....it works fine with 3 of those liveries but it crashes if I select any of the other 4.....
I had something similar when there was a premium competition with the Formula RR 90. Game crash (but something with OpenComposite in VR) when loading a certain livery, no crash when loading a different livery. I didn't look into it as I was too lazy then, but as I'm not the only one - I might try that again.
So does FFB have no actual effect on the crashes and it was just a coincidence? Or do these liveries crash the game only when FFB is enabled? What game mode and track? I tested it in single player practice on Most, without the wheel connected, and all 7 liveries loaded fine.
Maybe the livries are old ones that haven't gotten updated since he last played which was a long time. They probably got updated. Maybe that is the problem. If so then he should ask for a refund of the liveries.
These 4 liveries crash the game only when i have the wheel powered on....when the wheel is powered off everything is fine....it goes into the cockpit of the car and no crash back to windows.....its so strange....i have tried them on numerous tracks and it crashes everytime with the wheel powered on. I even did a complete reinstall of the game to no avail. It happens with both of the lukoil and liqui moly liveries....
This explanation doesn't make sense to me. He verified Raceroom files and that should be enough for any content that was updated. Not to mention that when something is updated, you must install the new update - the game will not start if you're on an old version.
Hi all, I also have this problem with WTCR 2021 Hyundai Elantra. Thrustmaster T248R and I also did "the usual things" like renaming folder and verifying integrity. I also tried adjusting the car’s FFB profile, but it didn’t help. The game and the steering wheel work with every other car.
Glad to see it's not just me with this problem....the fact we both are using thrustmaster wheels is a bit of a coincidence....not quite sure how it's causing the issue though.....
