Dirt Rally has a nice view for driving: You see the bonnet, the upper part from the console from the position of the driver. You do not see the steering wheel. I prefer this view as I have a real steering wheel and I don't want to notice unnecessary motion on the screen. It would be nice to have this view in Raceroom, too.
You could edit the cockpit cam for the car you drive, im sure you would be able adjust it to your liking. \SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\raceroom racing experience\Game\GameData\Cars Edit You can easily, i just tried it myself In the cam file <focalDistance type="float32">0.01000000</focalDistance> <aperture type="float32">9999.00000000</aperture> <relativeTransform type="Matrix">{ 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000 -0.5 ......... 0 is centre - is left + is right 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000 1.0 ............ higher or lower view positive is higher 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000 -0.10 ............forwards and back - negative is forward 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000 1.00000000 }</relativeTransform>
This is what I do. Just move the seat position as far forward as it will go (or as far as desired), disable the visible wheel...job done. You get a more realistic half bonnet/half cockpit view for single screen use.
The standard cockpit view from Dirt Rally his horrible btw. feels like looking through a zoomed in camera that distorts your perspective and kills any immersion (makes me kinda dizzy ) - with bonnet view it feels correct. For my taste RRE provides the best impression in terms of FOV and realistic immersion....
