Yep, that's known. https://forum.sector3studios.com/in...-questions-and-issues.8198/page-2#post-119164 Fix pending, but the latest news I got regarding that issue was that they found the cause and will fix it asap.
Yep, you can only flip forwards atm. But it's not a bad idea to have a backwards option as well, I'll forward your suggestion. Thanks for your feedback.
I consider buying the KTM X, but during the test drive I could not find a gear indicator on the data page. Old footage of that same car (presumably from before the update discussed here) shows a gear indicator. Is this something that only happens during test drive, or does this car currently not have a gear indicator?
The KTM X-bow has no gear indicator on the display (or anywhere else). It has a H-shifter and the indication is on top of the gear knob. But while we can't look down in R3E, it is obviously not visible. The car has no gear indicator in any of my sims btw...
Thanks for your reply. The problem is that the shifter does NOT move to different positions. Secondly, when the KTM was initially released, it did come with a gear indicator (see image) and for a good reason (since the gear lever motion is not properly simulated)
I know, it just moves forward and backward, like if it is a SQ shifter. Never noticed the gear indicator (though I bought the KTM as soon as it appeared)...strange...maybe it got kicked when the delta time was implemented ?
That's the old mockup version of it. They updated it to the rl one when they did that for all the cars, so this is how it looks now: Indeed the rl one doesn't have a gear indicator, for the reason @Fanapryde mentioned. Ideally you'd be driving the h-pattern cars with an h-shifter so you wouldn't need to worry about that kinda stuff, but if you don't have one (like myself) there's no other way than to remember which gear you're in. Keep track in your head, it can be done. It's just like some other old cars, they didn't have a gear indicator irl, so they don't have one in-game, and I'm pretty sure that's not gonna change.
Quick question about the data display. I primarily play AI offline and have noticed if I'm doing a standing start, there is a "countdown clock" on the data display that will tell when the lights go out. Is there a way to disable this?
It cannot be disabled by the user. It never occurred to me as a problem because the variation regarding when the lights go out seems minimal to me, so I guess I have internalised the rhythm so much it didn't bother me. But you're making a fair point here and I have forwarded it to a coder to have a look at. Thanks for the hint.
Couple more suggestions (sorry!). Currently the lap timer resets the moment the player crosses the s/f line. Could it perhaps display the lap time for 2 seconds before reverting back to the timer? It would give the player a chance to look down at the previous lap time. Also, individual key binds for each data page.
They should do just that, and the ones I tried just now do. They display a split time at each sector gate you cross and when crossing S/F they display the lap time of the lap you just finished for 3 seconds (I think it's 3, might be different), like the CDL3 does here: Did you notice this not happening on any particular display? Or maybe when using a certain game mode? (Screenshot above was taken in Practice.)
I was in the leaderboard challenge in a Mercedes Evo-II (at Zandvoort coincidentally) - just using the small dashboard LCD, not an overlay. edit: yeah, just seems to be in the leaderboard challenge - in practice and race you get the 'pause'.
