I just did a FR-X 22 race at Shanghai and the AI (difficulty 105) is too slow in T1 and T2. They're taking a line there that's way too wide. Apart from that, they are too fast in T13.

Laguna Seca is broken after update. Rolling start, the AI drives off the track and parks. Standing start, they don't move on green. Tried two cars and 2 different AI levels. Prior to it breaking, AI were very loose in the Andretti hairpin and the final corner was a parking lot and random race spins.

Is the AI supposed to adhere to yellow flags?

Have a look here, I got divebombed by two AI cars under yellow at 11:18 in the following video:

Depending on class, AI at the last corner in Motorland Aragon Fast Circuit is either too slow (Audi TT RS) or too fast (Silhouette). Ran both races on Adaptive AI, see qualifying times below for AI strength:

The Silhouette AI is generally a bit imbalanced as you can see from my splits 2 and 3 compared to the AI drivers.

Illustration videos available as part of my Raceroom/RacingLife let's play series, video link see previous post (episodes 02-10 for Audi TT RS, and 03-03 for Silhouette), just pick any race lap to see the differences.

And a third, more general observation / question: The Adaptive AI seems to have quite a speed difference between qualifying and racing, even for sprint races (15 / 20 minutes). For longer races, this would be fine (fuel difference), but I find this a bit odd for sprint races where you basically qualify with the same fuel load as for the race.

Is this intentional or can this be adjusted that the Adaptive AI speed differential depends at least to an extent on race length to simulate the fuel load differences?

Thank you for addressing. Downloading update now. Can you give an update on how the rest of the AI updates are going? I raced Shanghai and the AI performed well, thanks.

Zhuhai AI could still use some help. All of the following AI cars had trouble coming out of the first chicane, fishtailing. I ran 3 different cars, all at 94. Interesting that the lead car wasn't loose like the others, must explain why he was in the lead. There was also some other sporadic oversteer out of them in the slower corners too.

At the following tracks on the approach to these corners, the AIs tend to have much better braking force compared to the player:

    AVUS 94 & 98: Turn 1
    Circuit Zandvoort: Tarzanbocht
    Salzburgring: Turn 1

Here is how it can be explained: If you play on an easier AI difficulty, the AIs will be able to do a very late lunge on the player when you are ahead of them which also does sometimes result into being hit from behind or nudged off the track. But on higher even including adaptive AI, the AIs will always do this. This issue is also more annoying to endure when the car isnt having any ABS and at Salzburgring I get outpaced in S1 even by 0,5 seconds.

    ai 95%
    21 cars Mazda MX5
    track/layout Laguna Seca
    standing start
    start position 20

AI brakes with no reason long before turn 7

than lifts and brakes a second time without need before turn 7

    laptimes
    Screenshot 2025-04-22 200525.png

for my taste AI also tends to prone to accident at Andretti hairpin (3 or 4 yellow flags there in a 15 minute race because of spinning cars without a race accident)

I just did a DTM 2024 race at Oschersleben and the AI BMWs (difficulty 103) were way faster than all the other AI cars.

It was the same thing with the DTM 2023 car class, so I think the BMW M4 GT3 should be slowed down for the AI in general.

Autodrom Brno is plagued with issues!
Now @Andi Goodwin and @Alex Hodgkinson before you question the use of difficulty on this track, take note that I can play with higher difficulties on most of the tracks but Brno just like with Salzburgring has some plagues!
With classes like GT3, GT4 and Zonda R, the AIs will be much more difficult to race with, being way faster than you in qualifying even on difficulties which aren normally a problem. Here are results of both qualifying & race with issues explained further down:

    Car used: Zonda R
    Difficulty: 95
    20250506203419_1.jpg
I can't even keep up with the AIs in qualifying!
    20250506205422_1.jpg

But then during race things are different:
When behind the AIs, they will be much slower and you can easily race alongside them. But after you pass them, they go "I am speed" on you, have much better handling and speed out of corners 9 and 14 and make insane lap times.

Speaking of GT3 on this circuit, there are massive differences on this track between the cars the AIs are in hands of. Audi R8 and Porsche 911 are much slower whilest Bentley, Mercedes and BMWs are in much faster pace!

Not essential to the actual racing but just had this moment with an ai (wtcc 2015 at watkins glen gp with inner loop, full grid, strength somewhere mid to high 90s in case it matters):
Wanted to let the other car past so i could follow it for a bit but the ai seemed to be unable to fulfill my wish until we were at a standstill causing a traffic jam. Dont know if i was causing a white flag to which the ai didnt know how to react or if its to do with the pit exit or whatever but something certainly went wrong :D

Same thing happened at a DTM 2024 race at the Lausitzring today. AI difficulty was 105, and the BMWs were faster than the rest of the field:

    Hello,
Mazda MX-5 Cup (29 AI plus me)
    Daytona Road Course
Adaptive AI (The same problem exists wih AI 97 and AI 100)
In every first lap, the leader spins out in the bus stop, the following cars brake so hard that they spin out as well. There were no problems in the second lap.
    Starting position around 20th place.
In general, the AI behaviour in the bus stop is very weird: they brake extremely late, but they are not able to carry any speed through the bus stop. The AI pace in general is good I think (times were around 2:10).

Sorry for the video, I had to capture it in VR.

    Hello,
Mazda MX-5 Cup (24 plus me)
    Road America
Adaptive AI (Qualifying lap times between 2:31 and 2:33)
The AI doesn't respect track limits and crosses the white line in every corner where it is beneficial, but the lap times are not deleted. This is in Practice, Qualifying and Race.
The AI might also be a bit too fast in turns one and three, where I'm struggling to carry the same amount of speed as they do through the corner.
And they are also prone to crashes in turn six, there were a total of five or six accidents there in two races with ten minutes each. Cars were pointing in the wrong direction on the exit, sometimes just one, but also up to three cars involved.

    Hello,
Mazda MX-5 Cup (24 plus me)
    Laguna Seca
Adaptive AI (lap times around 1:38)
    Starting position: 6
    Several issues:
    1) The AI often crashes in turn two - there is a yellow flag in sector one almost every lap, I think cars are just spinning out by themselves
    2) The AI crashes every time in lap one in turn three - one is spinning, others follow. In addition to that, the AI keeps missing the apex of the last corner in the first lap. Both issues do not occur from lap 2 onwards.
    3) Sometimes, the AI is braking for the little kink before the Corkscrew. It happens randomly in the race, but never in practice or qualifying.
    4) The AI is braking at the start when they come close to the pit wall.

    Hello,
DTM 2013 (I'm driving the Audi)
    Portimao Grand Prix
Adaptive AI (they were doing 1:44)
The AI takes way too much kerb in turn one and turn five, which makes them very slow and causes crashes or at least a traffic jam in every first lap in the first corner. Interestingly, they only use the kerb when there are some cars nearby, not when driving alone.
