I think they are still the same, the files on my PC are from 04.09.2024.

The bundled x64dxvk\d3d9.dll checksum matches 2.4 on github. Later versions aren't guaranteed to work so well, can differ on visual presentation, or use driver features that may not be stable for everyone, so it'd need thorough re-validation if updated.

2.5.0-2.5.2 (problematic on DX9) won't run with R3E with my hw, and since 2.6.2 they can look worse on AMD. I'm staying on 2.6.1 and their d3d9.dll (placed on the vanilla x64 folder) due to reasons stated in a previous post plus a tiny performance gain, but 2.4.1 should still be a safer alternative to 2.4, given that it's a slightly later release with fixes from the same branch.

Even if you run the game in VR mode or with -vr parameter?

dxvk 2.7.1 seems to break RRE. Cockpit view from BMW Hypercar was milky and very bright. Shadows disapeared completly. So going back to the original version

Could it be that it simply doesn’t work anymore? About a year ago I tried it without VR, just on a monitor. Back then I didn’t need to do anything special — I just launched it with DXVK and through Steam and it worked.

Now with an RTX 5090, the latest drivers, and Windows 11 Pro, it gets stuck on the startup screen, even when I use the -VR launch option.

Is anyone actually able to run it non-VR at the moment?

Just in case, if you're just trying dxvk mode for single screen (no launch parameters) from the steam launcher as devs intended (also, having made no changes to included dlls) and it's not working, you might check a setting on the NV CP.
See if changing the "Vulkan/OpenGL present method" to another option allows it to run.

Regarding game shortcuts, for those using using the R3E's native \x64dxvk\ DXVK 2.4 implementation (instead of placing your chosen dxvk d3d9.dll in the x64 folder):

As you know, even if you force DXVK as the default option when launching R3E though the Steam Launcher, if you use the default Start menu>Steam>R3E shortcut* (that you might have pinned on Start for convenience), it'll always default to the first option instead (vanilla DX9, unless you manually place a d3d9.dll wrapper in the \x64 folder).

Confusingly enough, even if I create a direct shortcut to Game/x64dxvk/RRRE64.exe, for some reason I fail to figure, it won't run with DXVK and still run on DX9. It's easy to check by enabling a frame limiter or a hud in the dxvk.conf file, to see if it's loaded (it doesn't on my system).
So, a solution to shortcut launch the native \x64dxvk implementation outside the Steam launcher is to create a custom (p.e.) "RaceRoom Racing Experience with DXVK" shortcut with:
    Code:
    steam://launch/211500/option2
*The shortcut created at install on Start Menu\Steam doesn't support these /option# appended because it's using steam://rungameid/211500, while only "launch" allows such. There's a list in here.

Yet, it remains an issue if you launch R3E directly through https://game.raceroom.com/competitions/, as it'll still force the first DX9 option, regardless of Steam's launcher preference. I find no way other than manually having d3d9.dll in the vanilla x64 folder to easily cover this, and all other scenarios for convenience (so default shortcut works, etc), but better stick to a single folder overall.

So is there any chance that this can be used in VR at any point? Would be amazing!
