While the tires are getting changed in the pitbox with the FR X-22 at the Red Bull Spielburgring vs AI , the engine starts to overheat very rapidly (both the oil temperature and engine temperature) to over 500 degrees C, untill the engine breaks down. After the tires are changed I get the message "go go go" and to "start the engine" (which I can't because it's overheated and has 100% damage). After the others have driven 7 laps, the temperatures has dropped to normal, but the engine is still malfunctioning. I tried this a few times (same car, same track) and it happens each time.
I think i remember this case. I tried to replicate it, even doing donuts for a few minutes with full revs right before the pitstop and nothing happend for me.
The engine heats up very quickly and is broken way before the tires are changed and it keeps heating up even after that. It reminded me of the old HD shovelhead bigtwins which overheated while filling the gastank. If it happens again, I'll count the time.
Yep, well within 3 seconds. Tried Brands Hatch GP, the same thing. And it also happens in a pitstop during qualification. When stopping in the box, all temps are green (around 96-97 degrees)
can't replicate this. https://streamable.com/1c9eq2 try verifying the game's files in steam, maybe there's some sort of file corruption. if you can replicate this afterwards, please add detailed steps how, including game mode, session settings, car settings, pit stop preset, did you request a stop or did you just enter?
Games files verified successfully with no problems found. Gamemode: Singleplayer single event vs Adaptive AI. Session settings: -Number of opponents: 19 -Clouds: Random -Timer multiplier: x1 -Damage: Full -Tyre wear on -Full use on -Practice 60 min -Rules preset: Custom -Qualifying type: 3rd rnd elimination -Qualifying 12 min -Race 1: 45 min -Race 2: off -Start mode: standing start -Cut track penalties stop and go -Flag rules: complete -Mandatory pit stop on -Additional lap on -Min pit stop duration: 0 -Car setting: sometimes default, sometimes with custom Motor Generator Unit settings. -Pit stop preset: 3x tyres only (soft medium hard); 3x tyres plus fix all, 1 only fix all. -Pit stop request: tried with a request for tyres and tyres + fix, and just driving into the pit. Same result in all cases. As well as in practice, qualifying and the race the engine shuts down. When I enter with a cool engine, the temps are rising but the engine malfunction while the temps are still normal. The FR X-17 also has the rising temperatures but the engine doesn't break down during the pit stop.
Encountered a similar issue with Super Tourers getting a temperature warning from Crew Chief mostly after a few laps (practice and race) which is unusual unless there's some damage or even a new feature that you have to warm up your engine correctly After a while I get the all-clear, tho I also try to avoid running at high revs for some time....
I also tried to drive calmly out of the pit and drive into the pit at the end of that same round (inlap and outlap in one). Enter with a cool engine but it still destroys my engine while pitting. I also tried several combinations of only braking, braking and clutch, putting into neutral, shut down the engine myself. No success.
I can't replicate it either. Launched a single event on RBR with FRX-22 with adaptive AI and all your settings above; did pit stops in practice session, quali, race, including just parking in the pit box without confirming any actions - temps are fine, I didn't notice anything weird. Can you record a video?
During recording I noticed that when I put the car in Neutral before I stand still and after I get the message "go go go" I put it in first and immediately drive away, th engine stays alive. This seems more like the FR X-22 doesn't see my clutch while Raceroom settings, Second Monitor and the Device configurator do.
Maybe the clutch stops working while the car is being serviced? And I don't think I shifted to neutral while in the pits, I was staying in first all the time. Gearbox setting was Manual + Auto clutch + Auto blip.
I experienced this exact bug in my league championship race today. Unfortunately it ruined my race and forced a retirement while I was in the pits. Here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/live/bAwbL9z4ZJg?si=ldILmoF0t36VRTR0&t=2300 Timestamp from 38:21.
I've been able to recreate the issue now, having manual ignition/starter buttons bound disables the automatic engine starting. While the engine is off, for some reason it generates infinite engine temperature and drains the ERS, so definitely a bug. Will investigate and fix, thanks for the reports
Great, thanks Thomas! Yea, I usually have everything on full manual for the best immersion -- I had ignition, starter etc bound to my button box
Confirmed the issue is when ignition is on but the engine is off. Some bug in the hybrid logic was causing an infinite energy loop. Got it fixed here now, should hopefully go in some hotfix soon
