Only two rounds are left in the eSports WTCC 2017, and it's one of the most famous tracks in motorsports that hosts the ninth round: Suzuka. The WTCC went to Japan every year since 2008, and Tom Coronel is the most successful driver with three race wins – no surprise, given his racing history in Formula Nippon and the JGTC. The full layout of Suzuka though was used only once, in 2014, with victories for Jose Maria Lopez and Gabriele Tarquini. Frenchman Kévin Leaune won the prequalifying with an impressive margin of almost two tenths, but he collected too many penalty points in the previous races and therefore has to sit out the race. Therefore, four different manufacturers are at the top of the grid. Bencé Banki in a Citroen, Gergo Baldi in a Volvo, Nikodem Wisniewski in a Honda and the impressive newcomer Jaroslav Honzik in a Chevrolet. From the title contenders, Jan Stange performed best with P6. Championship leader Márk Nándori was 12th, while Alexander Dornieden was down in P20. As Nándori picked up a five-point-penalty in Shanghai, his lead is down to 8 points over Dornieden and 13 points over Stange. Division 2 was headed by Belgian Jonathan Schelstraete. In terms of the live stream, everything stays the same: James Kirk and Robert Wiesenmüller are commentating on the three races on Sunday, October 22nd, at 17:00 GMT (18:00 UK / 19:00 EU) on the WTCC Facebook page and the WTCC YouTube Channel.
