Hi everyone, I wanted to share a feature idea aimed at players who love the competitive spirit of racing but prefer (or need) to play offline. Right now, I strictly play Time Trials. I choose not to join live online races for two main reasons: Avoiding Incidents: I don't want anyone else ruining my race, and I equally don't want to accidentally ruin a race for another driver. Time Unpredictability: When I sit down to play, I often don't know exactly how much free time I have, making it hard to commit to scheduled multiplayer lobbies. I know I’m not the only one who faces these limits, so here is my proposal for a new asynchronous game mode: Ghost Races (or Postal Races). How it would work: Solo Qualification: You join a session alone to set a qualifying lap time whenever you have a few minutes to spare. The "Ghost" Race: You enter a single-attempt race lasting roughly 15 to 30 minutes. Zero Collisions: The grid is populated by the ghost cars of other real players who completed the challenge. You can see them and fight for position visually, but collisions are completely disabled—you simply pass through each other. Final Standings: Once you cross the finish line after the designated laps/time, your final race duration is submitted to a leaderboard, showing the ultimate race results. This gives the full thrill, strategy, and pacing of a multi-lap grid race without the anxiety of multiplayer crashes or the rigidity of scheduled online slots. I’d love to hear what the community and the devs think about adding an asynchronous, collision-free race mode like this to the game!
I like the idea of "offline" multiplayer races, but I feel that simply ghosting other drivers is too boring. Also, the first participants will have a very lonely race.
