1) A two player splitscreen would be nice, and with a "fill grid with AI" feature, it would be insane. I'd buy that Twin Forest track and try to make some friends who'd like to do a little tournament in Race Of Champions style. 2) Please bring movable objects! (I think they already existed some time ago?). I'm not sure whether you know how heavily it affects immersion when you drive through a pollard and it just clips through the car to suddenly appear next to your steering wheel. If movable objects are too difficult, try to make them disappear once a car hits them. Still a better solution than now. 3) I know that the AI can't have the exact same physics as the car you're driving, but sometimes it's a joke in RaceRoom. Especially on high curbs, it looks like they're just driving through without being affected at all. The last two points kept me from buying Diepholz, just because you can't take the sim seriously any more when you're aware of these things. And it's so present that you can't be not aware of it.
With hypercars on the horizon, is there any chance we might get a mid race save function? Please devs, it would be great to be able to do 3 or 6 hour, or even longer races, if only I could save the progress every now and then.
I mean itd surely be a handy feature but are there really people who consider the ai to be in a state where running proper multiclass endurance races makes any sense?
MAYBE the AI will be better in multiclassing with brand-new-multiclass-cars? Anyhow, as far as I understand all the stuff they said in the GridTalks, all "game features" like this will (or will not) be made possible with the engine swap, just as the Dashboards, Day-And-Night and Weather.
To morsif: content doesn't have much to do with features, especially single player. maybe one day when they rework the whole single player aspect finally. too much focus on multiplayer for me to be honest in the last years to Nico: yes, i do. to ms_racer: dashboards have nothing to do with an engine change. they are just in a super old language that no one understands anymore. and they don't have high priority to begin with.
Well I for one am willing to try it. I have done 90 minutes Nordschleife with 3 different classes. Admittedly they didn't get chance to overlap too much by the end but I was more than happy with the racing. In any case, this is a feature wishlist thread and I am simply expressing my wish, even if others might not want it.
Slightly surprised but ill take it I too would try it but if it doesnt go any further than trying a couple times and then abandoning it again and it goes that way for most people then itd be development time that couldve been spent on other things. But of course, nothing wrong with posting your personal wishes here, im sure i have done so a fair few times as well
From what I know, only night is limited by the current engine because with more than two light sources it starts to break. The rest should be doable without upgrading to another graphics API. If they don't abandon the idea to bring AI to a good, immersive state, a mid-race save is a useful feature even if now AI breaks too often.
Continuing to work on it wont necessarily lead to actually achieving it but sure, if we wanna be positive about it then that works out sooner or later. But personally id still find getting the ai to that state first and then giving us more options to use it more intuitive. But of course if people are already happy with the ai then the other way around makes perfect sense. Either way, time will tell which if any of these routes the devs will take
For some reason you seem determined to bat this one down so that it never gains any momentum? Perhaps this thread should be re-titled the 'Nico Kunze approved Feature requests'.
Not at all, i just expressed my initial concern about the value of that feature at this point in time and after people responded i also kept responding There are some features i truly would prefer not to see but this is not one of them
Very short wish: "Test Drive" not only for cars but for tracks as well. (Then with only the free cars available to drive)
I would quite like a feature in the in-game store to be able to move content around! There's some stuff I'm not interested in purchasing - so I would like to be able to drop this to the bottom (or somewhere out of the way), so I don't keep getting it shoved in my face everytime I go into the store.... Chris
Here are ones I already put two years ago : - Option to turn on/off the performance index system for multi-class racing in multiplayer. - Option to adjust the pit window time when mandatory pitstop is activated in multiplayer.
Hello, what about a rework of the Rolling Start? Player Control at the start line is not in general a bad idea, but with the large distances between the cars and some AI randomly (?) slowing down even before the line, it is not much fun. I can see that the way it is now has potential to make starts safer, but as far as I have experienced, this only works in multiplayer, but not so good for AI races. I'm not familiar with any real-life-series that does the starts the way we have them in RaceRoom.
I agree. I'm not against the current rolling start method but it does often seem to give a disadvantage by the time you are given control at the line, and it just generally feels unrealistic. I hope it can be improved, but I do feel that the offline aspects take a back seat to everything else.
I feel the same, but I think as other sims are very successful because of their good multiplayer systems, it is the right strategy in my eyes to improve that first and then work on the offline experience. However, mentioning "offline stuff" should continue, so the developers have it on their list. And maybe there are "offline features" with great benefit and little effort needed, so they can be implemented while working on the big topics (graphics, multiplayer).
I think we're talking about different things. The idea was that the replay you saved, when watching it in replay mode, doesn't start from the beginning again once it has played to the end.
