You're right, except the in-game value will automatically vary depending on the car, as you suspect (and so does the steering lock).

It also depends on what you call "noticeably off" : at 50% Steering Sensitivity, I can clearly see there's a difference in angle between the real wheel and the virtual wheel but it's totally playable, it's not like the virtual wheel makes 360° while my hands only turn 90° ... I'd say 180 real degrees make at MAX 270 virtual degrees (and I'm reeeeeally generous :D).

Just let the rotation in the vehicle settings match the rotation in the car setup and it's done. 900°/720° for older, 540° for GT and 400° for prototypes and hill climb cars.
The virtual wheel doesn't auto rotate yet, but if you set it like this it always matches your real wheel.

Or do like me and disable the virtual wheel in the vehicle settings.

ok so to be clear, the game does NOT auto-correct? that is i need to do it manually in vehicle settings depending on the car im about to choose?

is this a problem w/ the engine bc i know GSC has the same 'issue', but you also have to adjust steering lock, does this game auto-adjust that & if i'm correct above, will it auto-adjust rotation in the future?

edit -- just noticed the 'wheel settings' tab in the garage, had never seen it before. doh.

still just want to be clear i need to change the vehicle setting in the main menu for different cars tho?

The wheel settings tab in garage will adjust the rotation of your real wheel.
The setting in vehicle settings adjust the rotation of the in-game wheel.

Ideally you adjust the vehicle setting to match the wheel setting.

But yes, it would be good to automate this.

Hi Georg. Will this "automatic wheel rotation" feature get some fixes with the next update? With my CSW v2 it shows always "N/A" and i have to adjust the steering lock with every car to something around 30.

BTW ... This feature has worked with my former Fanatec GT3RS.

You can set steering lock to a lower value for the cars like GT.
If you set the SEN settings on the wheel at 540 at the same time, you'll have the same resultat as if automatic wheel range was functional.
I made 3 settings on my CSW V2: one with 540, one with 720 and the last with 900 SEN. Then you only have to set the steering lock once for each car and you're good to go.
It's a little workaround for this bug until they fix it.

Only thing is that you have to find/know the best value to set on steering lock for each car.
    GT are 540/23, DTM92 are 900/30, Audi Quattro is 720/27, etc ..

But of course I hope next update will fix this with a proper support of CSW V2 base

Yes, of course, i could do that. But that's not the way it should work with the automatic wheel rotation. I have my steering wheel always at max rotation (900° respectively SEn:OFF) and R3E should automaticelly adjust the steering range.

I know, but at this time at least you have a workaround thanks to the Fanatec on-wheel settings (selecting a setup on the wheel is done in 1" .. less than any load time in the game :p )

Running GT/WTCC/DTM with 900° wheel range is not the best way to enjoy it. I strongly suggest you to use the SEN settings until they fix it in the game.

BTW: using SEN settings will give you hardlock when you reach the max rotation angle. Something you don't have with in-game automatic wheel range

Curiously this worked with my former GT3RS. So it should be possible.

    I had it too with a CSR-Elite
But as I said, until the CSW V2 is fully supported by the game you better have to use SEN settings ;)

    Yes, 400/18
But I stick to 540/23 for all modern cars, the DP is a bit nervous with 400/18.

    Im the same.
    I only have 2 setting i use,
    900/30 for older car.
540/23 for anything modern. It serves me well.

It should be nice to have a FFB clipping meter to ajust correctly our FFB settings.

You have deleted the contoller.ini section. You don't modify it now ?

    It's ok, i understand.

Just posting to let the setting in the .sig be visible. Still need to fine tune here and there but generally They work for most cars with the CSWv2.

This are my personal preferences ofc.
