Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me. I’ve been playing this game quite a bit with a clutch and an H pattern shifter. Everything works perfectly for the first seven or eight shifts and then it plays that sound whe you miss a shift and none of the gears work for about four shifts and then they start working again for another 10 shifts. I’m mostly racing the Hokenheimring, Bmw M1 pro car. Any help would be great, I really enjoy this game, I’m also really frustrated.
Sadly, I have no idea at the moment. Which pedals and shifter are you using? Do they need extra software?
Thank you for the reply. I’m using a fanatec podium DD1, CSL V2 pedals, and a fanatec club sport shifter. I’ve played the game quite a bit, raced with lots of sequentials with paddles. I’m just trying to get the shifter to work properly because I miss driving the old cars. I’m disabled now. I’ve looked everywhere on the Internet, I’ve tried running the program in compatibility mode for Windows 7 and lots of things. Nothing has worked. In compatibility mode I can use the shifter accelerating, but on the second or third down shift it starts to miss shift. And then accelerate and repeat. great game though. I love the graphics and the cars and the fact that you can race DTM from back when it was exciting. I’d pay money to get this shifter working.
Thank you for the tip. I’ve messed with them before and did again. I’m not noticing much of a difference of anything adjusting both of the clutch dead zone sliders. one thing I finally found that works is if before I start decelerating, I stomp on the brake for just over a second and then I can gear down all the way. I can’t tap the brake or push the brake in. It’s gotta be all the way down for at least a second. Which screws up lap times you can imagine. But it sort of works…
Does it happen with upshifts and downshifts? You need to be very precise when changing gear with the H shifter, mostly when downshifting.
Yes. First or second downshift. Up shift into third gear. I’m not sure how precise I am, precise enough to shift in other games i’ve tried. I’m confused why the dead zones really didn’t do much. Anyways. I’m 33 hours in. Thank you for your help everybody. Maybe an update will fix this or something? Maybe I’ll check back in with this game in six months. Really cool game, I wish other games let me race 1992 DTM.
Have you checked your shifter calibration? My fanatec shifter is getting worn, sometimes it chooses the gear next to the gear I selected, I had to recalibrate it in the fanatec control panel.
