Yeah, sorry, a bit embarrassed I missed you already noticing about the KTM. Right you were, and I gave it another go and found six tenths so that will do
I must award +5 points for having two Nordschleife competitions, but deduct -3 points for making both of them 24 Hours. Still, a score of 2 is good. Keep it up!
With the newest Race Into Summer events, we now have three simultaneous Nordschleife competitions up. At the same time even! Our cups truly runneth over, even if two are 24 Hours. We take what we can get. I compete in every one of these that pops up. There are many very fast Ring-runners in RaceRoom.
@Denis Gicquel just in case you are interested, turns out the gap is bigger afterall. In a practice session the procar on default setup was good for a 7:08 or 7:07 in my hands. With some setup changes and running on a leaderboard wed probably be looking at that 15 second gap that you originally predicted
I started this thread in February, and I believe we have had at least one Nordschleife event every round since then, and I just want to express my appreciation for always including this fantastic circuit. To hold up my end of the bargain I have posted laps in all of them Is it me or is this round one week instead of two? Did I miss a week?
Honestly I don't mind if the events get shifted to one week, rather than two. But going back to two weeks at least lets more drivers participate and more entries are posted. The current Nordschleife comp is approaching 700 which is good for this track. The GT3 competition at Nurbs GP fast chicane is over 2100 now, but was around 1200 after one week if I recall. So the second week has seen an additional 900 drivers post laps and still time to run. Not sure what the competition committee has in store for next round, but we haven't seen the Silhouettes in some time if you are looking for suggestions
If i had known it was gonna be extended by a week i wouldnt have put in a lap at all so you can only attribute 899 extra participations to the longer duration
And I would move up one spot, so it's a viable strategy Nico It's nearing 2200 and still three days to run. Good turnout. GT3 gets a lot of stick, but it's popular.
New round is up after a bit of a lull yesterday. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like six of eight competitions are using cars/classes used in the previous round. I'd like to see it mixed up a bit more than this. Some cars and classes rarely make the cut. Happy to have the competitions regardless. The GT3 competition ended up with more than 2500 entries which is a great turnout
This round the Nordschleife competition is on the Nordschleife proper, but the competition page says it is NLS. Not a big deal. It's the BMW M2 for this one, and the car handles like a Crown Vic, heavy, lots of roll. But that's a good test around this place. It's a fast car however and is 270+ at the top of the long straight. Posted a fast lap of 7:20.1 I mentioned I want to see the competition cars mixed up more. So to assist the competition committee I had a look and these classes are never, or rarely used. All ADAC GT Masters Aquila CR1 GT2 GTE GTO classics Silhouette (no recent appearances) Touring Cup Touring Classics All WTCC Forgive me if one or more have recently appeared, I'm going from memory and that's not what it used to be
Good round of events. The GT3 comp at the Glen has nearly 2900 entries. great turn out, but GT3 usually does have. I like having the Nordschleife without the GP bits as well. turned a good lap, 7:20 in this M2, but maybe i could improve on that. It's a challenging combination Hypercars have not caught on, but I like them. Good event at Silverstone, but needs more participants, which will come in time I reckon. One of the drivers on my friends list had posted a lap three seconds faster than mine at Zolder in the 2016 DTMs, and frankly that's embarrassing haha. So I swapped from the BMW to the Merc and found nearly all that gap to climb 180 spots on the board. Friend activity still does not work, going on four months now. Is there anything that can be done to restore the functionality? See you (or your ghost) out on the black stuff.
New round is up, with a Nordschleife event in Super Touring, plus two Mid-Ohio competitions -- GT3 and WTCR -- which is odd, but I'm not complaining as this is one of my favorite tracks. Any track where you're dancing on the pedals is a real driver's track, and sector three here especially is exactly that. I'm OK with doubling up tracks, especially if it's one I really like haha, but maybe make one full course, and the other with the chicane or the short course to mix it up.
I've been running RR comps for three years now, and then some. And I've never seen RaceRoom Raceway. I wonder why this is? It's a cool track, and one of the free ones right? It should be included from time to time.
I know someone who would love that as I think its the only track he runs. I wouldn't mind a little point-to-point action now and then. Running down the track list, many are rarely used, but that's not never I reckon. A few however I don't recall ever seeing in the competitions. The competition committee will set events however they see fit, I get it, but RR Raceway is the home circuit and surprised it doesn't feature.
And yet we march on. Our unbroken string of Nordschleife events now extends back to February and I have to rate it all a smashing success. Thanks to the competition committee for keeping the faith. This round it's the Hillclimb icons class, and it turns out I had never driven these, I don't think. They have preeminent pace, gobs of grip, and are beautiful on the binders. Any car capable of a sub-6 at der Ring is a quick car indeed. Managed a 6:05 myself.
