Hello, I read in another thread that the maximum replay length is set to something between 1h15min and 1h30min. The user said that his game always crashes when he does longer races. Well, I did a 2.4h Nordschleife (Singleplayer) race in spring, and I encountered the same issue: After finishing the race, when trying to exit to the main menu, the game got stuck. Additionally, the replay files from that event (Qualifying and Race) were broken. I thought it was just bad luck, but now I'm wondering if this is a general 'problem'. So, my question is: Is it on purpose, that replays can only be saved when the race is less than these 1h15min or 1h30min?
Well, if somebody used to have the same problem and was able to fix it - I'd be grateful for help! Edit: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11700 @ 2.50GHz 2.50 GHz 32 GB RAM RTX 3070 Windows 10 (when the issue occured)
I just posted it yesterday on the NoS 2.4h thread, I also considered it normal so far..cause I have this issue for almost forever.... Win 10 Ryzen 7 3700x RTX 3060 (same with my former GTX 1060) 32 GB RAM (might be enough actually) SSD of course I usually clean up replay files so there's not much lying around and it also happened with previous PC's I used...
It's like this: Drive a "too long" race -> cross the finish line -> try to exit to the main menu -> game freezes -> you need to stop the game via Steam -> start the game again -> replay files are broken (no date, no car info, no time, no name) and can't be started
But it was just one time, right? Unfortunately it happens sometimes. I don't think there's a go-to solution for things like that. Yeah, I think he's talking about your post. So I assume if you turn replays off you can do longer races just fine? The game freezes only with replays on?
i would also suggest not hitting escape when it crosses the line , head back to pits and this may allow the replay to get saved Andi
Tbh. never tried because doin' shorter races up to one hour mostly (or splitting racetime for two runs of 1 h for example) But yeah pretty sure it would work with replays off then...apart from that maybe cleaning the cache before racing could help ? Had the same thought about it Andi, but no, makes no difference. Fun Fact: Have the same issue with Automobilista 2 btw. (well both are related in terms of having the same "Simbin" roots, don't they ?) With ACC I had no problems in this regard, but their replay system differs from RRE/AMS2
If you never tried then we can't say replays are the cause of this issue, it can be anything. For some people the game works unstable. Almost no relationship at this point. AMS1 used the same engine as Simbin sims, rFactor's isiMotor2, but AMS2 uses Project Cars engine.
Not 100% sure I've checked it out in the past or not, usually I'm looking at all angles before complaining but I'll give it another go with replay shut off
a lot of pcars stuff was rfactor ; or they just named there files the same way; and simbin stuff was rf1 ; ported at the release of GTR , not much of that code left in raceroom and none of the graphics are left at all Andi
