No probs man! We all have all of the time in the world my man, just most prefer to rush through most of it, breathe, relax and absorb it all! Mr_Mints_Taboo has answered your question, like or loathe P2P it does help to add a strategy aspect to your racing experience, comes in handy when you move up to DTM or F1 as learning to press buttons, at exact moments, at a zillion miles an hour can be a car crash! There's always the AudiTT VLN if you don't want the hassle of P2P, this car is a dream to drive and with the added downforce still amazes me at the corner speeds that can be achieved. Jeez, just buy the lot, you won't be disappointed.
Disagree with this one slightly, Line up some fat one's, brew a large pot of tea, unscrew top of Vodka bottle and screw the real world!
OK - I'm gonna sound defensive on this one! It's not the hassle of pushing the P2P button (let's face it, that becomes subconscious very quickly), I just sometimes feel cheated of a 'proper' overtake when I use it. But sometimes, when I use it somewhere unexpected, it feels good to have outsmarted the ........oh, it's only AI, but still. Also my mathematical/analytical brain is telling me that every time I use it, I get a faster lap time, which changes the Adaptive AI, so that the unboosted AI will soon be going as fast as I do by using the button, pretty much making it less than useless! So I use it sparingly, then try to slow up slightly on the next corner to compensate..... I guess I'm just not the NOS (or whatever) generation; I watch Fast and Furious for the ladies!
Jan 16, Cheerfully insane posted : " 1) The AI already disregards the first lap if you're using standing starts. Could we get that implemented for the rolling starts as well? Rolling starts are noticeably slower than true flying laps, and they're dragging the average down unless you run 10+ laps. Not a huge issue, but those who run standard races won't notice the difference while those of us who 'train' the AI first will have an easier time. " BUT.... May 2016 on the RD thread, he had posted " So, the technique is the same as before. Find your AI level for the car/track combo. Then do one lap with fixed AI, rolling start, no qualifying, and one opponent at that level and one more each at level -2, -1, +1, +2, +3. Your lap-times don't matter*, but it is important that both you and the AI cross the finish-line. And that's it, six laps and you're done. So even something like the Nords should only take you about an hour." So with the thread I gave you, you are correct, except that you were wrong to listen to me! Updated info seems to be Standing starts work best. This SimRacing is definitely not pick up and play! PS - if you haven't already, you really should have a look at CrewChief as an add-on.
