So far, it is shocking to see people care more about liveries then the cars themselves. I would be fine having any new cars even if they only had 1 fake logo on the hood and nothing else.
Im also somewhat surprised by the results but im also part of the "real liveries" voters. At the end of the day immersion plays a big role in this whole hobby and liveries to me definitely are part of that (and why im glad custom liveries arent a thing in raceroom). A car with fantasy liveries mostly feels like a fantasy car to me, a car with a super basic livery like you mentioned is even worse and feels like an unfinished product. But i also agree with what MS mentioned in the other thread, its mainly an issue with cars i have a connection to (which are many tho ), with things like the mx5 or the alpine cup i dont really care as long as its not too obvious theyre not real
When I drive, I only drive from cockpit, and in some cars, I can maybe see a tiny part of the hood and never use replays. Now, you can see why I don't really care much about the liveries, and even less if they look real, but use fake logos. I would rather have access to licensed cars, and not having KW pay more or work harder to get some real logos.
I totally understand that but as soon as i enter the car selection screen i gain the knowledge about the livery im choosing. And i am not able to then get rid of that knowledge just because i dont see much of the livery while on track (and if there are other cars on track things obviously become much more apparent). If "real liveries with fake logos/names" had been a poll option i mightve gone with that but with the choices being either fully licensed or fantasy i had to make a decision
This might be the most realistic compromise But in that case, how many people would actually support this “compromise”?
RRRE is not moddable, so YES there needs to be licensed liveries for the cars, AND what is always forgotten - the tracks raced by this cars.
We already have class 1 cars in the form of DTM 2020. More interesting for me would be GT300 of the mid 2000s-2010s era where one-off specials, GT3s and prototypes all mixed it:
R3E has Suzuka and Motegi, which are the main circuits of SUPER GT. If all circuits that SUPER GT uses are added, it will awsome
Technically true but then again gt500 has no drs or p2p, has different (i.e. better) tires and certainly by now the engine and aero will be more developed than dtm ever was so i wouldnt write them off as just being more of the same (and also if they were to ever come please dont bop them to match the dtm). Also wouldnt say no to some gt300 cars tho (although personally with a focus on mid to late 2010s with the clear favorite being the screaming prius ) Id argue the main circuits are fuji and suzuka, one of which we dont have. To make up for it we do also have sepang and chang tho. But sugo and autopolis would truly be a dream and then they might as well throw in fuji and okayama to complete the schedule
AH AH! Now, that explains why those cars are so difficult to master/drive. I couldn't understand what made them to "raw" vs other DTMs. Thanks for the tip. Since the UI doesn't show any car stats (HP, 0-60, weight, etc...) it obfuscates the reason why those cars behave so differently. Now, I can appreciate them instead of swearing at them
You can see the engine torque curves in the garage/drivetrain setup menu. They are absolute torque monsters but because it comes from a single turbo 2 litre it is not at all progessive!
Yep, you nailed it, very informative post. Now, I love those cars... because I know what makes them hard to master in the first place. On cold tires (without TC), it makes me learn "patience". BTW, I want to thank you for creating a magical experience. I own every sim and a super expensive motion rig and RR is the only sim where I can properly feel the weight of the car through the motion rig and porpoising. I cannot replicate that magic suspension feel anywhere else as good as in RR. If I could give you raise, I would
