Two New Super Touring Cars The golden era of touring car racing is about to expand with the arrival of two icons: Alfa Romeo 156 – Championship-winning heritage, raw Italian performance. Opel Vectra – A true classic from the peak of German touring car history. The Alfa Romeo 156 is one of the most iconic touring cars of the late 1990s, dominating championships with its sharp handling and distinctive style. Developed to Super Touring regulations, it became a fan favorite thanks to its aggressive performance and unmistakable Italian flair. Now faithfully recreated in RaceRoom, the 156 delivers a thrilling drive and brings a new level of authenticity to your Super Touring battles. A cornerstone of German touring car history, the Opel Vectra was a fierce competitor in the Super Touring era. Built to the highest standards of the time, the Vectra combined stability, precision, and raw competitiveness, going wheel-to-wheel with the best in the field. A true icon of classic touring car racing. Both cars will join the Super Touring class and are ready to battle it out on the grid. A Historic Track Returns We’re bringing back Alemannenring, a legendary street circuit that once hosted some of the fiercest Touring Car races of the 1990s. Long straights, tight hairpins, and classic street circuit atmosphere – coming to RaceRoom on June 24. Lovingly brought back to life in RaceRoom, this historic venue offers a challenging and atmospheric racing experience like no other. I take it the PBR graphics update isn't coming on the 24th, but from what I seen so far, it looks like a decent step forward. Will the coming update on the 24th have some performance improvements, or did that happen with the physics update that recently released? The game is running smoother than I remember, but that could also be my eyes playing tricks on me. I did spend the last few months with one of the jankiest running racing titles on the market. After updating Raceroom and trying a few cars, it was silky smooth. Granted that was only in Practice mode, so I didn't really push the game's engine.
If KW Studios plans to expand Super Touring lineup in R3E, please arrange to add Toyota Corona. No Toyota car is available in R3E currently. Is it a license cost issue, which is much more difficult than Nissan's and Honda's?
Great! Only Primera and 406 left to complete a 1998 STW grid. That Vectra is sexy btw. Edit: When will the update arrive exactly? I thought it'd be live by the time I got up today, but no.
Great addition to the Super Tourers, really, but I'm a tiny bit disappointed, or confused rather, about the liveries. The Opel liveries are almost exclusively from the 1999 STW season, and I'd like to know why. What I like about the '92 and '95 DTM packs is that you can immerse yourself completely in those seasons, and I hope this will be possible for the Super Touring class too one day. Great update nonetheless however, thank you!
Let's not forget the Ford Mondeo but as KW is negotiating with Ford already (new Mustang GT3) guess it will come soon™ as well As for the STW seasons represented I'm pretty sure it's all about licensing....(We can't have it all - that's life)
It would be called STW 199x if it was about the season, but it is about super tourers in general, so don't expect a full acurate season of liveries.
Fair enough. I'm not expecting anything, just expressing my wishes I guess. Edit: By the way, I love the idea of the RSTC. There's no chance in hell I'll be able to qualify for the actual races though, lol, but it's fun to be part of anyway.
Dang. Would have loved an STCC or BTCC livery of the Opel! Really looking fwd to the graphic update. The cars looking out of place in the world and the lighting really flat has been my biggest gripe. This looks to rectify that in a pretty massive way.
My bad, there were some STCC liveries in there. Wouldn't mind Mattias Anderssons black one tho! That Opel with them rear discs is a sexy thang. Sounds great as well
you can grab the same file and information on your harddrive at "...\Steam\steamapps\common\raceroom racing experience\Game\GameData\General". r3e-data.json is there.
Aah, I did not know that. And it is in .json, even better. Super big thank you for letting me know. //Cheers.
I must admit that I'm pretty disappointed about the upcoming RR ST Championship. Well, it's said that literally EVERYONE can participate but in reality I can almost predict the list of well-known usual RR e-sport elite boys who will actually occupy the first 30 Slots (and maybe some lucky guy/girl from the Top 60 pool, who will get permission due to the fact that some top drivers won't make it due to schedule issues )... The rest can bore themselves to death with endless hotlapping while having high hopes about winning cool™ prizes.... What about the prizes then ? Will literally EVERYONE have the chance to win ( random draw) by just setting a time on the leaderboard or is it reserved to the Top 30 (60) ? (Ok, would seem kinda unfair to those who practice their A* off if not - whatsoever) It's just not very clear reading the announcement as well as how it's written in the rulebook... Look, I personally absolutely don't care about those prizes - was just hoping for a Championship Event similar to the Special Events like recent NoS 2.4 h with enough slots available (and some vrp randomly drawn on top for all I care) so that any supertourer fan and potential new customer will have a real opportunity to actually RACE...and I don't need" juicy goods" teasing me to do that, find them rather corrupting mostly
Tend to agree although it doesnt really affect me since i dont care about the super tourers anyways But saying its for the community and then limiting it to the 30 fastest drivers dont really go together
I'm guessing that taking the top 30 gives a competitive grid...... The only potential option I could see to get around this would be to break the grid down and do a random draw - for example. Let's say 100 people enter, we need 20 to fill the grid. Break the entrants into 4 groups of 25, and randomly draw 5 drivers from each group to make up the grid. On the flipside, I'm guessing there would need to be some cut off point, would you really want someone who's 25 seconds per lap off the pace being placed in there? (That said it's "something the whole community can be part of" right?) OFF TOPIC: There's a similar issue with the competitions as well - get the fastest lap, gain some Vrp, I see the same names over and over (kudos to them for being quick) while the rest of us do the best we can to become part of a lottery! Those who are the quickest, can basically get Raceroom for free with their accumulated Vrp, while the rest of us pay for content (don't get me wrong I'm willing to pay to support Raceroom) Kinda wondering if the whole thing should be a lottery - let's say an overall draw of 1000 Vrp, and then the bracketed draws for 500 Vrp Who knows - that might even increase participation?
