I for one dont have anything to say because a) i dont know enough about the actual algorithm used by r3e to get into details and b) its just how its been done by basically all sims that have rating for the best part of two decades so it seems like its a similar case to equal blame incident points in that it obviously isnt ideal but it also seems pretty hard to come up with a better alternative

I wonder is it worth making a separate post highlighting those arguments to in the hope the right eyes see it ?

Only events use the combination of Rating times %Reputation for putting you in a certain split.

Yes but its still fundamentally flawed and ease of gain vs loss is ridiculously unbalanced,

Do you honestly think its a fair system or even makes sense when one bad result can undo 15+ wins and podiums with no way of accounting for being taken out or other issues you have no control over ? Depending on how much you play that could be a couple weeks worth. Its incredibly disheartening if anything.

The only thing the rating system seems to care about is finishing position correct ?

otherwise if you were on pole, fastest lap, lead every lap. only to be taken out by a back marker rejoining on the last lap, the system would still give a rating increase if it was fair, however at present it doesn't account for any of that. if you won you'd get +3 or so, but because you got hit and couldn't finish due to damage you'll get around -20.
Again I don't think anyone can justify the discrepancy there.
So while it may be a modified ELO system. Its still an Elo system, so fundamentally flawed in regards sim racing
