Would it be an idea for Raceroom to try and make a deal with a company that can provide dedicated servers for Raceroom? Possibly in combination with having advertising boards along the virtual track displaying their name. This could then be offered in-game as a DLC, or through an attractive monthly subscription model. Just a thought.
As there seem to be many series offering community servers which start automatically (Raido, LFM etc.), I consider it possible from a technical point of view. (Anybody let me know if I missed something.) For the economical side, RaceRoom is the perfect platform to implement the 'LMU system': buy your servers and pay according to grid slots and session time with a separate currency. Let's say one hour of racing with 20 people is 5VRP and you can start the server from a menu in-game - a dream come true for all of those who don't want to mess up their router. I'm not sure though how in the mayhem of menus and websites this could be placed well.
