Wouldnt read anything into that as it wasnt said in response to the question about tracks, it was simply as a disclaimer 5 days ago that it might not be possible to answer all questions that are asked over those 5 days. But we shouldnt have to wait too much longer before we know more
Since the Gridtalk and the update are delayed by 24 hrs, i think the update will lack of tracks, otherwise, I really think they would have teased them. The delay doesn't give good feeling too...
Wasn't this supposed to be the biggest update of the year? Kinda disappointing to be honest. The Laguna is a welcome addition, though.
Seen all in all, is the update itself really a disappointment? Don't get me wrong, when promises are made and then can't be kept, that is super annoying. Yes, we've experienced much worse things by Kunos, S397 and Reiza, but I think most of the RaceRoom community is loyal, so it should've been easy to avoid this situation. Just announce 'New Content. New Multiplayer. Big Graphics Update.' instead of 'New Cars. New Tracks. New Features. A new era for RaceRoom.' and everyone will expect just a bit less while still being excited for a big update. I'd be very grateful for a short explanation tomorrow or on Thursday. I can imagine many reasons for an update delay, but keeping the community guessing what it actually is - not sure if that is the right way. Back to the update part: If you ask me, it is a very big update and I can't even imagine how much work and effort was put into updating all the textures on cars and tracks. The screenshots look very good, if it is the same when driving - not a disappointment at all. Hypercars are a great addition, even if you don't enjoy driving them. Finally we are able to do some WEC experience on Nordschleife - not a disappointment at all. Let's see how the multiplayer turns out, but even being able to know that you will be the only one racing instead of finding it out when the lights go red - not a disappointment at all.
I do not doubt, that this will be an extrordinary update with a lot of great tweaks to R3E. And I so look forward to driving the Laguna which sure is a beast. But alongside hoping maybe some new tracks could be revealed, I would rather see that KW have put work into fixing some recent AI issues that have been noted! Those are also very vital. We can still hold off lads!
Wow, really? In September last year we got two cars, three tracks and a graphics tweek. Later that year, in December, we got five cars and two tracks. How is this by far bigger?
Ultimately, this is just one update among hopefully many more. Raceroom can only get better. So I'm completely relaxed, no matter how big or small the update on Thursday is.
Can someone please point me to the latest information about this coming update ? I do not see where it is said the update is going to be delayed. Thanks
I find this just now: https://www.overtake.gg/news/racerooms-major-update-delayed-until-september-25th.3668/ In RaceRoom Instagram, no such information is posted. It is odd that they did not announce in their official Instagram channel.
I wish KW would concentrate on using this forum instead Instagram, X, Discord... I dislike social media. Spreading the user base is a bad idea. IMHO They should create a funnel where everything leads to this forum instead. Create new subforums (multiplayer, FFB/Physics, track, cars, graphics, etc....) where we can report bugs, suggestions (similar to the Community Support forum).
Even on Discord there’s hardly any information. Like, when exactly is the Grid Talk airing? At this point all we have to rely on is some fishy beta tester. Very professional, right? Edit: Ok, so the Grid Talk is airing in 4 hours it seems. Had to find that out myself, because why should KW tell me/us?
For my interest, I would focus on visual improvement, fps overhead (if any) and the revamped multiplayer design.
Those last few posts above, proves my point. What is the truth? Forum? Discord? Instagram? Other media channels should simply post a summary message with a link back to the forums for all the details IHMO.
The Laguna is weird. It’s promoted in a ’97 BTCC livery but the model is based on a later car, as seen on the bigger wheel arches. Also, as I’ve pointed out several times in the past, the modelling is very inconsistent within this sim. Some cars looks very accurate, almost as if they’re laser scanned, while others (including the Laguna) looks like something an amateur modder has made at best. Edit: What was the point of that presentation exactly? A bunch of uncharismatic guys talking about things we already knew.
