I am very happy to use Xbox gamepad in this game. However, after a small patch released by R3E on/after 2025/04/27, the steering is unstable. The steering is not centered when I do not touch the left analog stick of the gamepad. The steering is either slightly turning left or right, as shown on cockpit screen steering wheel. I observe this behaviour on various cars and tracks (Ferrari 296 GT3 DTM 2023, Honda Civic WTCR 2022, etc on Macau circuit, Chang circuit, etc). I check steering status in setup page inside R3E. The steering position is stable and centered when I do not touch the left analog stick. So, I am pretty sure the issue is unrelated to gamepad hardware/software. Before the small patch released by R3E on/after 2025/04/27, I do not experience this issue. Please help.
I observe the same behaviour when using default gamepad profile. I can alleviate the problem by increasing the steering deadzone from 0% to 5%. But it is alleviated but not completely gone. My gamepad is Xbox Elite 2 Controller. I switch to my old Xbox One Controller and the problem is gone. Maybe it is hardware problem of Xbox Elite 2 Controller.
I try to delete the Xbox Elite 2 Controller profile I created inside RaceRoom. I plan to let RaceRoom detecting the controller again. However, it seems RaceRoom still remembers the controller. After I delete the profile, I power on the controller again; however, RaceRoom pop-up a message that the controller is connected; however, as I deleted the profile, the controller has no profile to control RaceRoom. As I know, whenever RaceRoom detects a new controller, it loads and binds a default profile for it. However, it seems that RaceRoom remembers my Xbox Elite 2 Controller and does not reload/rebind a profile to it. Can anybody help?
As I suspect having problem in my customized controller profile, I deleted it inside R3E game. Then, I exit the game, power on XBox Elite 2 Controller, wait for Windows to connect it via Bluetooth again, and then start the game. R3E says controller is connected, but R3E does not load and bind a default profile to it. It seems that R3E thinks this is the old controller that has binded with a profile. But, in fact, the profile was deleted.
No, it doesn't load anything and doesn't even switch profiles if they already exist. It's just a notification for you.
But none of the profiles receive input from my Xbox Elite 2 Controller, which connects to PC via Bluetooth. In Steam, the controller input can be received. The controller work with other games as well (e.g. Automobilista 2, F1 '24). Now, I enable Steam Input for Xbox Controller in Steam R3E settings, making R3E detects it and binds it as a Valve Xbox Controller. It works.
