Hello! I am new to this forum. If this post is in the wrong place, please let me know. And sorry for my poor English. I really enjoy this wonderful SimRacing. I think the Physics and multiplayer system is the best in SimRacings. That is precisely why I suggest to add SUPER GT GT500. There are more reasons I suggest to expand GT500. First, While the arrival of the PMR has drawn global attention to the GT500, there remains a vast audience seeking stability, accessibility, Physics, and superior sound quality. The R3E is the only system capable of delivering the “real thing” to millions of fans who seeks stability, accessibility, Physics, and superior sound quality. Second, most Japanese fans, who are the core of SUPER GT fans don’t own high-end PC and steering wheel. They play with Laptop and Gamepad instead of high-end PC and steering wheel. R3E is the only modern SimRacing that allows us not only to play with Laptop, but also play with Gamepad comfortably. Third, SUPER GT has those unique appeals; The ear-splitting, sensuous “roar” unique to each manufacturer, The extraordinary performance of a prototype car that packs the innards of a Formula car into the body of a production vehicle, The embodiment of the visceral coolness of motorsports, like the porpoising effect to the extremely intense battles. It is perfect alignment with tradition of pursuing GT, a legacy carried forward from SimBin. R3E has major GT classes, like GT1~4, DTM, and GTE. With the addition of the GT500, R3E will be able to build a true GT empire. Also, R3E has Suzuka and Motegi, which are main circuits of SUPER GT. It is the fact that the licensing costs are high, and even if you do obtain a license, the issues are complex. This is just my personal opinion, but it would be perfectly fine to use a fictional Liberties or to enter into individual contracts with manufacturers (meaning we wouldn’t include the SGT logo). That’s why I really think we should include SUPER GT. Well, it’s not up to me, though. Thanks for reading. What do you all think?
Yeah, GT500 cars are incredibly fast. But I agree, it would still be amazing to have them in the game.
Gt500 has been my main car wish for a long time so +1 to getting them (although personally id prefer 2017-2019 or maybe until 2021 rather than the most recent years). Unfortunately when looking at the whole simracing genre one has to assume the licences are very expensive or the organisation straight up doesnt want these cars to be accessible to us. Personally having the real liveries would be important tho so using fictional liveries wouldnt be a great workaround either
As many people migrate to 'real sims' from Gran Turismo 'games' which they started playing as children, having the old Super GT (Castrol Supra, Motul Autech GT-R, Takata NSX etc.) would draw much more attention and really excite a very large audience than the current cars. However, it needs three or four cars to start a class, and I don't really see where the manpower (another factor besides license costs) could come from to bring them to RaceRoom when GT3, Hypercars and Super Tourers are probably of higher priority. Anyway, a JGTC class from let's say 2000-2005 could be the biggest deal for RaceRoom since the Super Tourers.
I completely agree with licences! That's because Polyphony Digital and GTA are inextricably linked. But don't forget PMR example. They probably add GT500 by entering into individual contracts with manufacturers. I also understand your point about real liveries. But isn't that at least better than the current situation, where there are no GT500 cars at all?
Youd feel like the reasonable answer would obviously be yes but im not sure i can fully stand behind that . I saw a short PMR gt500 race and the mostly completely fantasy liveries were definitely a huge turn off and to me it didnt feel like watching/being part of a super gt race anymore, theres just too big of a disconnect happening for me. If the liveries closely resemble the real ones i might be able to live with it (kinda like the formula raceroom US but preferrably even closer to the real liveries), if theyre fully fantasy liveries id probably rather have different fully licensed cars than something thats neither here nor there
I agree with this in the context of GT500. For smaller series like the Alpine Cup, the MX-5 Cup or something similar, I don't care whether liveries are real or not. I don't have that much of a connection to these cars as I don't know them at all in real motorsport and the cars are not introduced as a specific series. The Alpine Cup is the Alpine Cup, not the 'Alpine elf Cup Series 2025'. However, when it comes to legendary liveries like the ones in old Super GT, you have to have exactly that livery. The more important the livery is for a car's status in the history books, the more important the livery is in a simulation. PMR also has the Mercedes GT1 with a D2 livery, but it says 'BS' on the car. Immediate deal braker.
To be honest, I hate fictional liveries too. If we want to include real-world liveries, I think there are two options. The first is to sign a contract with GTA(GT Association) and make it the “Official SUPER GT Game.” This approach might be possible if Polyphony Digital doesn’t hold an exclusive contract for SUPER GT. (Since Polyphony Digital only develops software for the PlayStation, even if they don’t have an exclusive contract,a PC-only title like R3E could still be an option.) The second method is to expand on what PMR is currently doing. PMR included the 2021 Nissan Motul Autech GT-R GT500 and the 2022 Nissan Calsonic Impul Z GT500. This was likely achieved through negotiations with the manufacturers and teams. So, negotiating with all manufacturers and teams could allow real-world liveries. However, this would involve all three manufacturers (Toyota, Honda, and Nissan) and around 15 teams. I believe negotiating with everyone would be far too time-consuming and costly. (That said, since SUPER GT is manufacturer-led, if the manufacturers are cooperative, the teams are likely to agree.)
I could care less about "real-life" liveries. Just license those cars and come up with fake good-looking liveries if they hard to get.
I think this is the key point in regards to fantasy liveries. Now the question is, how many people care so much about Super GT to be actually turned off by fantasy liveries and how many will be fine with just having the cars.
A simple poll would work. See here. https://forum.kw-studios.com/index.php?threads/poll-super-gt-gt500.21355/
https://traxion.gg/project-motor-racings-japanese-gt500-dlc-removed-from-sale/ Adding GT500 to R3E might be a lost cause GTA and Polyphony Digital, which are practically trash to put it mildly, may have blocked this DLC. The only hope is that R3E hasn’t expanded to the PlayStation, which is Polyphony Digital’s turf.
It was a complete misunderstanding when I said that Polyphony Digital was involved. https://traxion.gg/project-motor-racings-japanese-dlc-reappears-with-a-new-name/ Project Motor Racing's latest DLC has resurfaced, ahead of an imminent re-release, with a new name. Japanese GT500 DLC ❌ Japanese Prototypes DLC ✅ Given that it seems the only issue was the name “GT500,” it appears that only GTA raised objections regarding rights, and Polyphony Digital is not involved in any way. It's worth noting that this SGT vehicle will be re-released with its correct livery intact. In other words, if other game developers avoid using “GT500,” they could potentially recreate the liveries in full simply by negotiating with the manufacturers This is a good news!!
You probably know, but rF2 has a free official Nissan GT500 since 2016. It wasn't that popular and probably is not updated to the latest standards (graphically etc.) , but I liked it's handling. Also , URD have their paid mod: https://forum.studio-397.com/index....nced-simulation-and-unitedracingdesign.75795/
