This is not similar, as you found out too. When the game hangs on the splash screen or on the fullscreen with cars, it's usually a connection issue. When the entire program closes shortly after you launched it, it's usually caused by something local, like a anti-virus in your case, or a missing Windows library.
I've got the same issue as described here. Black screens with working cursor. Tried everything but after latest steam update issue reoccurred. My system: Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz 4.01 GHz RAM-memory 16,0 GB, windows 10. No recent crashdump in ../Documents\My Games\SimBin\Crash Dumps. I've got a map called 'sentry-errors'. I've added my launcher log.
I still have everything from the original "My Games" folder. If my launcher log reports something similar, what is this game/platform doing differently to everyone else's, which fudges with a working game?.
Thanks for the suggestion. Enabled vpn. After that it did launch. Set the displaysettings to borderless (not fullscreen) and enabled triple screen (had already enabled triple screens via the nvidia app). Disabled vpn because it interfered with Le Mans Ultimate, fortunately R3E still worked. No clue about the rootcause but it is working again. I feel like a beta tester the last couple of years.
