this isn't news, there was high quality photo of Spa posted month ago u can find in this thread the roof is too low to be Barcelona imo but it also looks different to current Spa start/finish
does it look similar? that's Vallelunga but the terrain after the stand may be a bit off still the closest thing I could think about
"NXT Gen Cup" in the dashboard hints at this: An electric Mini Cup. Nice, but have you noticed the way the dashboard looks??? This also opens up the question about the free cup car: will it be the Alpine (hope so) or the Mini? Track Vallelunga? Look at this at 0:58... I painfully remember this track. The place where WTCR died...
people thought they will get Alpine Cup for free and they will get Mini Cooper EV instead at least I figured out the track
Yeah vallelunga is now very clear. The cars so far are nothing im particularly interested in but very nice to see the dashboard. Not that the old ones bothered me personally but its always good to see progress on the game side and if eventually all cars have accurate dashboards thats one less thing for people to complain about/to leave a bad first impression
You may still hope for another LMDh (Alpine?), at least a fourth one was confirmed to be worked on in GridTalk #6 (for the 2025 Q2 update). The old dashboards were not a dealbreaker for me either, I even liked them as they always provided all the information you needed and you always knew where to find what you need. However, it used to be probably the second most criticised aspect of the sim for the past years. If they add immersion and broaden our community, I'll celebrate the new ones. I wonder though, if they will be added to all cars or from time to time. It must be super difficult to get data from the dashboard of a Ruf RT12R or a Gumpert Apollo Sport.
Would certainly be more up my alley and given that its been mentioned quite some time ago there is some hope Would definitely take some learning/finding your way around but ill gladly accept that. Would be surprised if they came all at once but you never know
It's nice that Spa is returning with updates, but I couldn't find info whether it will be a free upgrade for the old version owners or if at least the old version will still be available for them?
I guess it will be the same procedure as for Oschersleben - you have to pay for the new version, those who already bought the old version will get a small discount (for a limited amount of time) and the old version will still receive updates if issues arise. As far as I remember, the discount was 25% back then. I wish they could make it 50-75%, missing Spa for over a year on ranked is painful enough and I could have lived with the old version as well. Or just a 'little' update like Monza and Macau got, new curbs and some buildings.
these discounts are heavily inconsistent Zandvoort was full price, the old version is still buyable and usable as "classic" version basically and even is used this week on ranked so I can understand it Indianapolis had 50% off if u owned old version even if the situation was similar to Zandvoort, means the old track is still in the shop and is basically treated as "classic" version old Oschersleben is out of the store and the new laser scanned one was discounted but I don't remember the % it won't be free, that's for sure but I don't mind it though since they put a lot of work into these "paid updates" + every year we get many free updates to many tracks to bring them to the current specs like they did with Monza where all curbs were replaced or the Red Bull curbs/traps etc and some other sims use the same versions for many years without any updates, lol
Considering how track updates are usually free, I don't see how they could charge for a new version of Spa unless it's laserscanned. The only exceptions were Indianapolis and Zandvoort due to layout changes, and Oschersleben which was laserscanned and built again from scratch.
I mean technically Spa layout changed, they rebuild Radillion + the track surroudings were heavily changed too
Getting back to this, if teaser #4 is anything to go by they wont come all at once, at least not with this update
Yes, the surroundings and runoffs were changed, but the track layout itself is still the same. The length of the track didn't change.
The car looks too real to be an ingame model, but then on the other hand, this is a really good photoshop. Here's the original picture: https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/deut...ommunity-car-schubert-motorsport-test-miramas
