After iRacing, AC, and AMS2, I tried R3 again: Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti (DTM 95) on the latest Zandvoort track with a Thrustmaster 300. The in-game graphics are great, it's amazing how good they've turned out – compliments to the team! 1. But the FFB... I can't feel the car slipping, the kerbs all seem totally flat, and contact with other cars or walls doesn't generate any feedback at all. Even with Brian Koponen's setup, there's little change. I've tried everything in the game's FFB settings, but nothing happens. I can feel the gear changes and the forces in the corners – that's fine. But everything else: nothing. Is it my steering wheel, are there setup tricks I don't know about, or is the game just like that? 2. Steering wheel calibration. It feels like I'm driving a bus – and that's how it looks both on the steering wheel and on the track: there's a lot of movement on the steering wheel, but little on the track. I've already changed the rotation in the control panel and in the game, as well as the dead zone, etc. What are your tips?
Any update or support? How to reset the steering? I saw some tips in the forum like altering Steam\steamapps\common\raceroom racing experience\Game\GameData\General\steering_wheels.xml. However I just can't get my FFB to work: an impact with a wall just does not do anything. Same for kerbstones which are not just paint. I have no problems in other sims.
That's weird because a lot of people have T300 and it works just fine in Raceroom. Try to ask on Steam forum or on Discord, there's more people there than here. https://discord.com/invite/raceroom
No problem here. Sometimes I set it to 75% when I know I wanna drive the FR X-22. In other cars I turn it down to spare my shoulders (old guy here). But for OP, if some FFB aspects feel weak or not at all while others are strong, lower overall FFB and raise the ones you feel underpowered.
@AzagThoth Realrace why don't you use the FFB factor, that can be set for every car separately in its setup, found in the upper right corner. ... it's a little easier i think ... the default factor respects the differences of the cars forces ... so set in windows driver 100% ... and then adjust the factor for each car for your own experience needs
This won't help in Raceroom because all FFB here is made of one type of effect - sine wave. Damping effect is used to give the wheel "weight" while the car is stationary or moves very slowly, and spring effect is used for spring-based steering range feature (which is not used for Thrustmaster).
