In addition to my last post I can also add SteamVR - Field of View option (more info in the link below) https://www.roadtovr.com/steamvr-field-of-view-option-world-scale-override/ You can trade some FOV for Clarity. Currently, I'm using, the RR VR video preset. FOV is set to 90% in SteamVR. I can't see any black borders in the horizontal / vertical, but I can definitely see a more clear image and less jaggy edges all around for no extra performance. You can also use Advanced FOV where you can crop horizontal and vertical, up and down individually. For example, depending on your VR set, if you crop horizontal to 73% and vertical up/down to 50% you can get the feeling you are wearing a race helmet and the game will look cristal clear without taxing your PC hardware extra. Have fun! ✌️
can some one help me please i have a pimax crystal light since this week, derfore i had a quest 3 and used opencomposite to bypass steam but now it is not working any more were can i find the opencomposite files and openvr. api that works
I'd say just remove the current openvr .dll file you have in the game folder and run a "Check File Integrity" from the Steam. It should pull down whatever file comes with the game.
oke thanks that work so that the game now starts in vr again but then with steam vr what should i now do?
I wont get it run with Virtual Desktop. Any suggestions? I always get the message: failed to initializew libOVR: when I start the game. With Oculus Link the OpenComposite works fine.
OKay thank you but I think I will stick with open Composite. I hate Steam VR. Another Question, if I start the game in VR (openComposite, the game works b´pretty good, the only thing thats strange to me is, that the Game Window on my Monitor (Mirror) is just black. So I am not able to stream my game. In my VR Headset it works fine just the "Mirror" does not work. Any fix for that?
in the graphics_options.xml file (should be in the folder ......\My Games\SimBin\RaceRoom Racing Experience\UserData) locate the line <renderVirtualRealityViewToMonitor type="bool">false</renderVirtualRealityViewToMonitor> and replace false by true
Wanted to start RRE with the Q3 again today after a long time. As usual via Airlink. The game can also be started as usual, after selecting the track and car, the loading screen appears until the message ‘Press any Button to Start’. But then the game crashes with an error message ‘Unexpected Error Message’ from OVR. Does the OpenComposite ini file no longer work with RRE? I have updated all drivers etc. to the latest version. Other VR software runs normally with Airlink. Where should I look for the error?
Yeah R3E hasnt worked for me in over a year even changing from HP Reverb G2 to Pimax Crystal Light and a new Windows install.
It's a shame, I really don't want to abandon this game for technical reasons, I don't care about eyecandy reflections, lighting, not even shadows (which I have turned completely off), but the more the VR industry advances the more unusable RR becomes. Currently with a Pimax Crystal Light the situation is like this: 1 I can play RR at 75% resolution with 72 FPS, without shadows 2 I can play RF2 or AC at 100% resolution with 90 FPS, with shadows, dynamic lighting, etc. There is no OpenComposite support, no foveated rendering, no post process. At least we have fake sunset mode to make RR in VR even darker (oh God, how I hate it).
