It would be great if you could tell us how you got the openvr.dll to work, as I don't know of any version that works with Pimax.
Oh, it's a Meta3 here. Sorry, didn't realize it was about Pimax and therefore your right, don't have an idea either. And I'm pretty sure I downloaded from default github.
Are there a recommended settings for the G2 with Oasis driver? Everything is fine for me for the most part however I noticed a huge drop in performance when trying to use ReHud with this seutp?
You can try SealHUD instead, it gets drawn inside the game rather than putting another window on top of it. So it might avoid whatever issue ReHUD is causing. I'm using G2/Oasis with this.
I'm using the "-vr 3.0" launch option. Which according to Thomas' recent post in discord actually overrides the resolution to 3240x3600 per eye (ignoring whatever is set in SteamVR). In game I use the VR Optimized preset. This looks good and performs well on my 5080 and 9800X3D system. Sometimes drops a few frames at the start of a session but otherwise solid 90fps.
Okay makes sense, I'm the same and hovering around 70fps with my 14600k and 3080ti. Also how can I better position SealHUD? I feel like it's so close to my face
Yeah I don't know of a way unfortunately. I don't find it too bad but I would move it a bit further away if I could. There are button bindings to move HUD forward and backward but they don't do anything as far as I can tell.
If the OpenXR menu opens for you, can you please upload your DLL? Unfortunately, I can't find a DLL from July 24.
I’m running on Quest 3 it through VD (ultra quality, 72 FPS) in SteamVR. The game looks great, but my CPU is dying according to the fpsVR graph, and I can’t get more than 60 FPS. Performance is very inconsistent — around 40–60 FPS. The CPU graph in fpsVR is constantly yellow. The GPU is handling things just fine. My system is a Ryzen 5 5600X and an RTX 3080 12 GB. When I run the game on a monitor, it works perfectly — over 100 FPS.
Does this work with OpenComposite and Virtual Desktop? I've replaced the dll and edited the ini file as stated in the first post of this thread (although it's pretty old I'm assuming it's up to date). I'm running a Quest 3, RTX5090 and a 9800x3D. I've been doing this stuff for a while now so I'm used to dealing with workarounds and tweaking, but this one continues to elude me. I attached the error message, but it says "failed to initialize libOVR.: -3003" Basically I'm just trying to determine whether this really works with VD before I waste a lot of time. It seems like some people have had success on here.
Opencomposite с vd у меня не работает. Та же ошибка. Мне удалось добиться нормальной частоты кадров только с полностью отключенными тенями, но игра выглядит не очень. Буду ждать патчей.
You mean your CPU is struggling in VR , not dying right? Remember that VR is also more demanding on CPU . In iRacing there’s SPS optimisation option (which IIRC essentially allows single single rendering for both eyes ), but I believe not in R3E. I can’t even run R3E with my Varro Aero , but heard people saying CPU optimisation is worse after the update. Also a week ago or so , using Vulcan I had significantly better performance (20-30%) than with DX9 , but now something is broken, cause it’s like 3-4x worse FPS and I don’t see shadows and lighting etc.I still have Wiindow 10, so maybe that’s why, but I read it may be caused by R3E having issues with newer Vulcan versions - so for now will stick with DX9.
For this game, tools like FpsVR show everything under CPU, that doesn't mean anything. It could still be GPU limited.
This is exactly the information I was looking for. I don't have Meta Airlink installed on my PC because I use VD for all of my sims and I just got RRE working with it using SteamVR and it's actually performing pretty well on my Quest3 because I have decent hardware. Is it worth the hassle of installing the Meta stuff to use OpenComposite with Airlink or just stick with SteamVR in VD? How much of a performance/quality improvement is there if any?
I am coming back to RRE due to the latest update being promising. I started a VR session yesterday with my QUEST2, via META LINK not AIrlink or VD, since my PSVR2 has controller pairing issues, again (you have to hate the BT implementation on this VR device) the performance with my 7900XTX and 7800X3D is now terrible, lot of retroprojection showing in FPSVR, frame time above 13ms, stutters etc etc This used to be a locked 90fps experience at 3000pixel per eye and now I can not trigger openxrtoolkit anymore to improve the situation. Changing Graphics preset to VR optimized has very minor impact if any at all. I am running the Oculus runtime and ‘Launch RaceRoom (64-bit) in Steam VR mode’ option. any guidance appreciated.
