Just wanted to add - 9800x3d, 7900XTX, Quest 3, Virtual Desktop wireless, H264+ 500mbps, using steamVR, in-game all on ultra, VD resolution set to medium - no issues at all, I will have to do benchmark but I believe it's 120FPS all the time - ask me questions if you need any screenshots of my settings!
I’m having issues with pimax Crystal light with 9800x3d and rtx5090… not able to run full resolution or medium without stutters. Was working fine before update.
I use Oculus Link with a Q2, 9800X3D and 7900XT as I find it better looking and more stable than VD or PSVR2. * in the Link software I have it set to 90FPS and 1.5x resolution * I have ASW disabled through some registry setting * I use Oculus Tray Tool to set the bandwidth to 600Mpbs … * … but I forget what encode resolution I use. Not the highest though * In game I use VR optimised, but everything that is listed as CPU intensive I max out * I use the Iron Wolf Open Composite hack, using the recommended settings, except I set the auper sampling to 0.8 * I use -vr 1.5 in the steam start parameters For me personally this combination looks better than anything else I’ve tried
Thank you so you are not using META oculusvr runtime but steamvr instead right? our users case is different as I have a Q2 and using LINK but that might give me hopes.
thank you for the detailed reply I have been on this thread for several years now and been using the Iron Wolf Open Composite hack with success indeed. But last year my PC crashed and i had to reinstall all my STEAM games, including RRE so i lost this precious openvr_api.dll that was providing me the stable 90fps I mentioned in my post. do you mind guiding me to the version you are actually using so I can give it a try again?
I've attached the files I am using, I think the AVX2 version, but I am fairly sure I got them from here: https://gitlab.com/TheIronWolfModding/OpenOVR My opencomposite.ini looks like this. Turns out I have been using 0.75 super sampling recently supersampleRatio=0.75 enableLayers=true enableCubemap=false threePartSubmit=true useViewportStencil=true dx10Mode=true I think the most important setting for Raceroom is dx10Mode=true. As far as I know (and my testing concluded) this will only work with the Oculus Link software, not Virtual Desktop. While I'm here posting random links, the Oculus Tray Tool can be found on Archive.org: https://archive.org/download/ottsetup-0.87.8_20241213/OTTSetup_0.87.8.zip (see also this reddit post) It's basically a wrapper arouind the things you can do with the Oculus Debug Tool, but with other benefits too. I use it to automatically set the bandwidth because otherwise I'd forget to do it, start a race, then wonder why it all looked a bit wors e than I remembered. Needless to say, don't ever download DLLs and other tools off random internet pages and forum posts
thanks for the detail write-up. in the meantime I have found on a backup done on an external HDD the dll I was using I was using in RRE and this has improved the performances for sure. I am close to stable 90fps but in very optimal conditions Hot lapping VR optimized settings in game my 7900XTX in max OC mode I was not needing this prior the last 12month updates to achieve the same locked 90fps. what is puzzling me as well is that I can not trigger openxrtoolkit to start anymore as I mentioned in my previous post, this could help me to optimize things to reach this 90fps target (I had been using it intensively with my previous GPU a RTX3080) so this is a bit annoying right now that I can not find what's wrong with my current set-up. I can do all the above super easily in my other Sims, including the pain in the backside ACC, and even pull 120fps stable with the brute force of my 7900XTX and 7800X3D combo but now in RRE, it doesn't work. annoying
Hi, im trying to get VR to work but unfortunately its unplayable for me. I have a Reverb G2 with a 5800x and Rtx 5080. FPS Vr shows solid 90fps, but it feels like i have 20. I used the VR preset and also set everything to low to see if the settings are the problem but nothing worked.
Were WMR headsets not deprecated with W11 update? i remember reading there will be a hacked drivers to help users like you so you are sure it’s not a driver issue? if not , you can try the opencomposite DLL being discussed in posts just above it does improve VR performance in RRE
With the recent pimax play update the game has become playable again. However only at medium resolution at 90fps and not full resolution like before the update…so not all the way back like before. edit: unfortunately I tried it today and back to stuttersville. Even tried 72fps and success…
After some more hours i found the problem. its the force feedback settings. After I change any of the settings, the game gets unplayable. Might be a problem with fanatec, very weird...
Update: I've since realized this is a general issue with my VR setup, not specific to Raceroom. Please disregard. Mine seems worse this week. Getting a lot of little stutters. And the stutters are strange, like the head position is shifting a bit relative to the car. Similar to pressing the "VR view reset" button. Using Reverb G2 with Oasis driver, 9800X3D and RTX 5080, Logitech RS50 wheel. Previous weeks I had no issues. Also I've only done the DTM 2016 Hockenheim combo this week, so it could be specific to that.
