My VR is stuttering like mad, even jsut in the menus looking left to right it stutters. 5090 / u9_285k / Quest3 on Link I have turned all supersampling back to 0, running VR optimised and quest on its lowest refresh rate 72 For reference i can play ACE in vr high with 1.5X supersampling at 90fps without a issue.. something is seriously broken in R3E.
If you're running MSI Afterburner try closing it when playing, that gives me stutters but closing it fixes it
Have been using RR for years and have never had a stutter in VR, and as recently as the 28th October all was fine. Fired up on the 29th October and a small update was installed for the game and now I have "stuttering" (maybe not the correct word as game is not slower) maybe "double vision" "ghosting"of objects outside the car Having done some checks this seems to be related to virtual mirror and rear view mirror detail level. The only way I can stop the stutter is too uncheck the virtual mirror options under gameplay > hud and reduce mirror quality to low. Prior to the recent update I had virtual mirrors on and quality at medium
OpenComposite doesn't work with PSVR2. And there would be no reason to use it, since PSVR2 only works through SteamVR. I think the post you quoted was just talking about VR in general, not OpenComposite.
yes I was saying in general with current RRE version,if I try to get opencompiste to work via the single dll file method, it would open up the META app(why???) and throw me this error
Still cannot get constant 90 using -vr 2.0, a lot better but still appears to be possibly micro stuttering. My cpu is right on the limit. I513600k, 5080, Pimax light.
spent the last 3hrs just testing with the QUEST2 Max resolution in META app and -VR 2.0 in Game launcher Injected the openvrapi dll from the original Iron Wolf method 7900XTX in max OC mode and my 7800X3D also optimized to the max In Game setting as VR Optimized used as base 1. QUEST2 refresh rate at 90Hz. Can only maintain 90fps in bumper view, if I do to cockpit then the fps dips start and teh ASW is kicking in with 45fps showing. quite stable though, no really micro stutters that I can perceive, just drop in performance 2. QUEST2 refresh rate at 72Hz. that's the only settings that allows me to run at 90fps in cockpit mode. Side positive effect,I can crank up AA to 8X The experience is good in this 2nd scenario,I have no motion sickness in general so running at 72Hz is not an issue, I am just disappointed that with the almost high End Hardware I have,I can not run the Game at 90fps Will do similar testing wi th y PSVR2 tonight but I still don't get why I can not trigger openxr to make use of openxrtoolkit like in other Sims
I don't think so mate. I'm in the same boat with the same headset. I find my Crystal light runs like crap in RR via Steam VR. I can't play it and that's with a 5080 with lots of settings turned down. LMU and iRacing is fine with higher settings but I use Pimax OpenXR for LMU. Hoping the dev's can give us some kind of performance boost to make it playable. Bit gutted I can't enjoy the new updates. I've played RR off and on for years.
someone replied to me on Discord that since RRE is a DX9 game, triggering openxr runtime is not possible, on any headsets. I still need to refresh my brain because I thought I had managed to do so on my PICO NEO3 Link few years back, this headset being also Steamvr headset ah the joy of VR......
Interesting mate - I was trying for 90fps which is what I get in the others but I was struggling when I tried 75fps. I thought the -vr 2.0 etc. was only for quest headsets. Does that work with Pimax too? I haven't tried putting any numbers after the VR argument. What does that number do? Should I try different numbers?
the -vr parameter will affect the resolution you see in your headset. I use -vr 2.0 with a QUEST2, if I reduce to 1.0, this is looking awful.
none of those running this is my gaming rig, after win11 I run a debloat tool and its stripped clean. other games rock solid 90 FPS on my quest 3, including current hogs like AC EVO.. the problem is not the pc.. it the decades old DX9 architecture I would say.. its like trying to send a fax from a cell phone.. nothing modern wants to play nice with it..
Well my 7900xtx and 7800x3d are pretty modern HW For me it’s performance the issue not micro stuttering but yeah YMMV
