Hello, so this is the content for the 2026 Q1 update: LRT1 (NXTGen Cup) Alpine A110 GT4+ Spa-Francorchamps Adria Raceway Vallelunga All of the new cars and tracks will probably be used frequently both in ranked multiplayer and competitions in the weeks after release. I guess there will be combos like NXTGen Cup on Vallelunga and GT4 on Spa, or the (free) Alpine Cup on Adria. To race those combos online, you will need both - car and track. So if you like the NXTGen Cup but only want to spend money on Vallelunga as the other tracks don't interest you that much, you might end up having only two weeks of racing online in the 'Mini' in the first let's say six weeks after release (this is for a hypothetical schedule of Vallelunga - Adria - Spa - Zhejiang - Norisring - Assen given you only buy the Mini and Vallelunga and have purchased the Online Racing Pack) Long story short: I wonder if - in the future - so-called 'Update Packs' could be worth thinking about. Those packs include all content coming in the update and are only available in the first week after release, but do give a discount. Given cars and tracks will be 699 VRP (prices of the latest additions), you would need to spend 5 x 699 VRP = 3495 VRP ~ 35€ on the content (with only one livery per car!). Speaking for myself, this is way more than I want to spend every quarter of the year for new simracing content. I will try to hold myself back and only get Spa and Vallelunga. The other cars/tracks are - once again, this is only my point of view - not worth the price tag - not in terms of modeling quality or handling, just a personal feeling, this might change later as well. If there is no linked discount for those who already bought the old version of Spa, I will even think about boycotting that one. That's a different topic though. In the end, I will give KW something between 699 VRP and 1398 VRP for one or two bits of content on the 24th. If there was a '2026 Q1 Update Pack' with all of the content to pick up for 2499 VRP (25€, a discount of 29%), I probably wouldn't even think about it and get it, being happy I'll have all of the opportunities in online racing and competitions in the upcoming weeks (update hype time!). At this price tag, it's roughly 5€ for each car and track, which is an amount I'd spend on the Mini even though I expect empty servers for this car, just for fun and trying some hotlaps. Seen per item, it's 5€ instead of 7+€ (liveries) for RaceRoom, but overall, it's twice or four-times the money they get (from me at least). That's my monologue so far, but this isn't a forum to jcomplain about prices, it's for a discussion! So here's my question: Would you be in for 'Update Packs'? Do you like the concept, but have something to add or change? Is the original pricing perfectly fine for you? I'm keen on reading your thoughts and suggestions.
IMO we should wait to see what the offers will be. It could very well happen that some of the new content will be available in the pack. If not, it's all about the prices - and we don't know them yet. About the idea - as far as I know there was a Summer pack 2025 that included all the latest content (at that time), so could very well happen in the future as well.
I remember that one very well (thanks again to Nico ). It contained content published in the course of the last year and was basically what inspired me to the 'Update Pack'. The update packs are like the summer pack, but for every update. If updates are series-related (Q3 2024 was like a DTM 1995 update, Q4 2024 like a Super Touring update), these update packs would act like 'regular' DLC from other sims. It gives those interested in a specific type of racing a good opportunity to pick up some content for a good price.
No idea what i have to do with it but youre welcome Basically fully agree and in my case both me and kw studios would likely benefit from such a pack (certainly assuming the prices you used as an example). Im expecting to buy all 3 tracks but skip the cars. Ill test drive them both but the mini will definitely be too slow for me to buy it anywhere near full price and the alpine gt4 id be more interested in but realistically i drive gt4 for like a couple hours a year (and already have other gt4 cars that i prefer visually and sound wise) and thus buying it around full price is also very unlikely to happen. So if spa is full price id pay 21€ without a pack, otherwise less. If spa is full price the 25€ pack would be an instant buy for me, if its like 50% off id be more hesitant but might still end up buying the pack. If instead of wanting the 3 tracks id want 2 tracks and a car id be even more likely to get the pack since having a number of liveries to use is important to me and then the price for a car can quickly be more like 9-10€ meaning the individual purchases are even more expensive than with just tracks which in turn makes the pack even more attractive As for prices in general theyre definitely at the higher end of what im willing (or more like accepting ) to pay. I havent done extensive research but id think only iracing is more expensive when not considering special sales, certainly as a new player. Given that im already heavily invested i mostly just go along with it for now but if i were just getting into raceroom i probably wouldnt buy much more than the online pack and then get bored sooner or later. That pack is great value for money but at the end of the day its still only a fairly limited amount of content which wont keep me happy for too long (same reason im not on lmu and acc is collecting dust (not to mention any new early access titles coming along)).
In some updates in the past, at least the new cars had been bundled into a pack: https://game.raceroom.com/store/packs/
So I'm lucky I get along with owning only one livery of a car. What I can recall is the Ferrari 296 GT3 Livery Pack. Those offers could be interesting for many as well, although as far as I remember, the Ferrari one was still around 10€ for a car and something like twelve liveries. It shouldn't even be too difficult and/or confusing to add those livery packs to any car, maybe just a bit too much time to invest from developer side. Or it's liveries that RaceRoom earns the most money with, who knows.
Very lucky indeed . But i just cant (regularly, there are exceptions of course ) take a nordschleife livery and race it at bathurst, take an elms livery and race it at daytona, take a dtm trophy livery and race it in asia etc Nobody knows but i doubt thats the case
In term of packs, also I don't understand why in WTCR and WTCC some years are offered as packs, and some other years not, with similar contents (I see no "premium" brands, like the gone Ferrrai).
they for sure should do something with the shop and packs offering since it's all over the place since I remember kinda weird that 1 piece can make whole pack vanish but for Online Racing Pack they were able to replace Laguna for Sonoma and keep it up I like Raceroom but inconsistency should be the subtitle of this platform I also agree about the new content imo the pricing is fair - many cry about this Adria being sold as 2 separated pieces but if they would release 2021 now and 2003 layout in like 12 months nobody would say anything probably, I don't see people complaining about the fact that Silverstone or Hockenheim are separated and there are much worse cases for selling same content twice in this title like Brands Hatch or Nurburgring but there should be bundle for every Q release that's for sure, like u said put 25 euro tag on it and most people would be fine with it and at the end they also would probably earn more this way because atm a large majority bought discounted Spa and then maybe one of the other released tracks and that's it
Probably true but also theres a somewhat significant difference between two modern grand prix tracks with their 15/25 year old beloved counterparts versus a small circuit hardly used for international competition and with a "historic" layout that was used until 2 years before the track closed. I dont find it surprising people are willing to pay more for the former than the latter. As for the nüburgring i dont really see anything wrong with it, brands hatch id agree on but then again that was one of if not the most asked for track so its easier to get away with it than with a track hardly anyone asked for. Im still glad it got added and that we got both versions but 12€ for 1.5 tracks that realistically will see hardly any online participation, most have no personal connection to and most dont find super fun to drive is quite the price to ask for. But ultimately the people in charge will have to see how well it works and whether its a concept to follow in the future and well have to wait until then to find out
I just want to be able to buy all the liveries when I buy a car, or to buy all liveries when a bunch of new ones shows up. Having to buy liveries 5 at a time because the shopping cart keeps emptying, and cannot keep up with my selections, is infuriating.
