    ... and if you do so and you are one second faster each lap, the AI magically catches up to ram you out just before the finish line out of nowhere. I know that's what the game is all about: deformation, but that ammount of rubberbanding is just ridiculous and frustrating at times. No matter which difficulty you set the AI. But that really is my only complaint about the game.

    We're pleased to announced the availability of the new exciting DLC: Rusty Rats Car Pack!






    To coincide with the DLC launch, we've also taken the opportunity to update the game to the latest version on all platforms to bring forth the latest bug fixes and quality of life enhancements, including a number of critical improvements to online functionality. For full information on the latest update please check out the full release notes of the patch below.

    Game version

    CONTENT
    • Added support for DLC Rusty Rats Car Pack.

    MULTIPLAYER
    • Increased robustness of the console window.
    • Server no longer crashes when "%" character is used anywhere in a message or a username.
    • All vehicles are no longer shown as "Not Eligible" for the host if "Host's Car" car restriction is set.
    • UI is now correctly handled whenever player is kicked while in the lobby sub menus.
    • AI now correctly uses the difficulty settings as set in the lobby options.
    • (XB1/PS4) Clients can no longer join a server if the owner has already quit.
    • (PC) AI difficulty can be now configured in the dedicated server settings.
    • (PC) Clients are now given more time to load the cars during the countdown, reducing lag spikes in the lobby.

    GAMEPLAY
    • Reset effect (car flickering) can now be enabled/disabled in the Settings, Gameplay menu.
    • On Hellride, it should be no longer possible to drive on top of the steel mesh and cause the game to glitch out.
    • On Big Valley Speedway Figure 8, it's no longer possible to cut the first lap short.
    • Track surface information is now correctly displayed for Vale Falls.
    • Added release delay to digital clutch to prevent shifting exploit (previously you could shift instantly, giving unfair advantage).
    • In derby events, AI now has better awareness of the arena boundaries, reducing the chance of it smashing blindly into barriers.
    • AI now uses Roadcutter in Class A.
    • 1st person camera angles now work correctly on Bugzilla.
    • Exhaust backfire effect now works correctly when "Big Headers" are equipped for Starbeast.
    • Improved Wardigger suspension setups.

    AUDIO
    • Replaced the engine audio for Hornet.
    • Loudness balancing of vehicle engine audio.
    • 5.1 surround mixdown and 3D attenuations adjusted for more precise spatial positioning of ai vehicles.
    • Adjusted concrete wall collision effect asset design to match game engine implementation.

    SYSTEM
    • Fixed a rendering issue that resulted in the skidmarks flickering occasionally.
    • Fixed contact effects for large vehicles such as School Bus and Motorhome.
    • The player starting credits (10 000 CR) are now correctly awarded when launching the game for the first time.
    • Credits rewarded during an online session are no longer lost when terminating the game (instead of quitting properly) while in lobby.
    • Added guards to prevent the save data from becoming corrupt.
    • (XB1X) Resolution can be now changed in the Settings menu between Full HD and 4K.
    • (PC) The game now attempts to remove the bogus read-only flag from the save data files that caused the game not to launch.

    HIGHLIGHTS
    • Two new tracks: Thunderbowl & Tribend Speedway

    We're pleased to announce the availability of a new content update!

    It's been a long time since new demolition derby tracks were added to the game, and we're happy to let you know that finally derby fanatics get some love too: this content update introduces a thunderous new derby arena called Thunderbowl! This bowl-shaped arena sees the players starting higher up at either end, and making the dash of death to the middle section where total war rages. The shape and design of the arena provides fresh, electrifying gameplay experience, so even if you're not so hot about derbies in general make sure to give it a go!

    And that's not all: we're also adding a race track called Tribend Speedway. It's a high-speed crash-fest that started its life in the twisted mind of the ever so industrious modder Theveryend (Tor Ole Lerbæk) and comes also with an alternate layout featuring ramps and additional obstacles, guaranteed to crank up destruction all the way to eleven.

    We're also constantly working on improving the gameplay experience based on the feedback. PlayStation 4 users can finally use voice chat in multiplayer as well as enjoy reduced loading times. Also worth noting this time around is the adjustment to the launch logic at event start, bringing automatic, manual and manual clutch users to equal grounds. Please find below a summary of items fixed or improved upon in this release.

    Ooh, I missed the patch notes that said AI don’t use DLC content is ‘fixed’ - meant I was never interested in it but thanks for posting here.

    Tournament Update: Winter Fest

    We're thrilled to announce the availability of a new tournament!

    As you know, in many parts of the world it's that magical time of the year again that the white powdery stuff covers everything into its blanket. Yes, that's snow! As some of you might remember, a few years back we did a holiday special featuring snow, and since many of you have been hoping to see something similar again, we just couldn't leave you all out cold. So, sure enough winter has arrived in the Valley of Bugbear once again and during this tournament, all tracks are covered with snow! And what's even more fun is that this time we got snowballs too!

    That's right: No winter would be complete without glistening snow, slippery roads, and of course, snowball fights! Since we're talking about Wreckfest here, the snowballs in the headlining tournament event "Snowball Run" are of pretty destructive type, and tossing one unleashes a whirlwind of vehicular destruction wrecking anything in its path. Let's see who's going to be the toughest snowball fighter! The sideshow events are keeping it in the spirit as well, with winter themed demolition races, demolition derbies and time attacks guaranteed to offer sideways going, sheet metal tearing wintry fun. Make sure to check them all out because awaiting the top players we have a very special prize: a wicked new tournament reward car Starbeast SS, sure to strike the right chords with the fans of the Early Access version of the car.

    • In the settings, the "Ambiance" volume control now affects all track-side sound sources.
