Now I've got one, too Not finished yet, need some pocketmoney for triplescreen and a new gtx 1070. Well, have to talk to my wife or see what son has in his piggybank. No, my wife hasn't got a duckface! Plannings I did by myself using Framedesigner from FrameXpert. It took a time, but now it's how I like it.
I'd like to be using my Rift with R3E soon Intending to swap the CSW V1 out for a V2 in the new year.
Hi, nice mobile rig I have the Playseat Challenge, with the TH8A shifter. How did you secure your shifter to it, if you don't mind sharing, please? Thanks in advance
Upgraded some stuff since last post (new seat, new screen etc.): New GT/rally steering wheel, perhaps my all time most successful project: New formula steering wheel, even though I'm not really the formula car kind of guy: New button box and serious floor plate: New handbrake, in case I feel like Colin McRae:
Really itching for VR to be implemented ... My awesome wife bought me an Oculus Touch for Christmas. As well as being able to use it for its intended purpose, the other reason was to use the second receiver in a dedicated fashion on the rig (I can simply twist this to point in a different direction when using it for Touch purposes). I did need to remove the mounting pole from the stand (hacksaw job) to enable me to do this. Fortunately the rig itself has very little discernible flex or movement in it (largely due to the triple thickness sides and double thickness supporting panels along with various metal supporting braces on the wheel stem), so the operation is great with no wobbling of the receiver. I still need to route to cabling inside the nose section but I designed the rig to be able to do that. Just about to pull the trigger on a CSW V2 and thinking about adding an additional, large buttkicker as well. Also, added a new PC fairly recently to power it (couldn't help but make a display stand for that):
Would you mind to share your May-Cad .scene file with us? I don't know if it can be attached directly to forum posts but i guess it works if you use zip format. Wäre echt nett
Hi @Kollo, here we are. If you've got some questions, send a message. The two profiles the pedals are mounted on, I attached with 90° angles, so the pedals can be tilt to the slant you prefer. I'm quite tall, 1,97 m, so you should check the length you need in the end. But with the sliding bar for the seat, it also fits to my son with 1,65 m. Have fun.
^^ I lurked for this file and leeched it... but unfortunately the Framexpert software shows an error. "This scene not supported with current software settings"... what is it trying to tell me? Edit: ok i figured out it has the wrong vendor. Which version of framexpert do i need? I installed the multi vendor but it doesn't work. So maytec or 80/20? Edit2: nvm.. got it.
Would you mind to share your knowledge? Edit: Ok, found it out myself: 80/20 Software Version is needed. I would recommend the newest version "MayTec". Unfortunately the different versions are not compatible and you can only install one version at the same time. Thanks for sharing @frischhaltefolie
Yes, I used the 80/20 file. Sorry, I forgot there are two versions for download. But fiddeling around with the program to make your own design, was great fun and handling is quite easy.
I upgraded to a Thrustmaster TX with the Alcantera wheel. The T500RS will be relegated to PS3/PS4 duty.
Wow, what a massive improvement over the V1 - really pleased with the new wheel base - smooth, detailed and powerful - and just as importantly, no fade. Not at the same level as a direct drive but really enjoying it.
My new rig I got for Xmas but have only just finished setting up. The last thing will be to carbon wrap some perspex and then attach it to the shifter mount to use as a mouse pad.
Here is my self build rig made of scaffolding tube with 3 32" curved display's . Now I only need t upgrade my gpu for smoother gameplay and higher fps. Work in progress.
