No idea what is wrong... Since this evening, I always get a Steam overlay screen on top of the RR screens. I get an error 302 in a popup screen, if I click it away, I receive ads (mostly to repair Windows 10). If I open RR from Steam, it has the same result. Clicking back to game does get me back, but whatever I do next results in the ad windows popping up. RR sound is audible. All other sims and the rest of the PC works normal, no issues in Google either. I have Avast anti virus running. Help please ...
Adware, spyware or the like, steam overlay is browser based so is feeding the ads, sure if you disable the overlay it would work perfectly. Not a fix, that would be done with something like Malwarebytes or adaware. Sure there is a thread here from not long ago with the same issue.
Thanks, never had this before. Have been looking for a earlier topic, but did not find any... So, I'd better use a ad blocker ?
Not sure, im thinking it is malware that has attached to the browser so installing and running to find and remove should suffice. Im sure someone more informed will be able to advise you better.
OK, I think you mean this topic: https://forum.sector3studios.com/index.php?threads/cant-play-the-game.6990/ Only quoted you because of this BTW @[S3]Kitsune gave some tips (have not tried them yet) and pointed at graphics card issues. But OP seems to be someone who just started the sim. In my case I am running R3E without issues for over a year (or longer). If it is malware on the browser, shouldn't I be suffering the same issue on the other sims ? No issues there though.
just run the free version of malware bites , do what it says to do and see if that fixes it , sounds like that would fix it Andy
No, other sims don't use browser based menus. Your problem sounds a bit like this: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/412449508284805012/
Haha, yes, you gave the hint too. It's just that I started using PC for sim racing about a year ago and being a long time Mac user, I have little knowledge about virus and malware stuff, Andy pointed me to the exact program to use. On Mac I NEVER had any issues of this kind in all these years... PC is only used for sim racing here, I don't even have mail installed on it...
Its cool, late night grammar was telling you not to use Malwarebytes Even tho i was telling you the problem, kinda contradicting myself.
