Not one to complain (well too much) and this is more an observation of opportunities missed. Been taking in pic's and vid's of the Sim expo, all very interesting, absolutely but the one thing that stood out for me, was that the majority of exhibitors, proudly showed their wares, using triple screen setups, I know, someone has mentioned this before , myself on more than one occasion for one! Now I'm first in line to big up the Dev's (J-F Chardon, Sector3, Georg Ortner) for their communication and insight but other than "the graphical guru will take a look after VR is implemented", VR's been here for months (or so I believe) and diddly squat, nowt, bugger all, silencio! It's all very well saying "VR is the future" undoubtedly, in an ideal world we'd all be in our own little worlds, oohing and aahing at the glory before us but in reality, (yep! still exists, for now) financially, VR is beyond many, where as my old GTX780 ran 3 x 27" screens no prob's and with the low cost of displays and powerful enough graphics cards, I personally (exhibitors too as it seems) believe triple screens will be around for many years to come and to cap it off my mates like to watch in awe at my mastery of the track and not the back of my head wagging around like a yout on Ketterman. Rant over, move along, nothing to see here other than tears!
Triple screen is already in the works, it was said here and there but probably not officially enough.
I've been waiting so long for this , very welcomed news. Thanks so much. Just one question for those computer gurus, I have my screen stretched across 3 monitors. I assume using up lots of graphical power. By having triple screen support will it lower the usage of my graphics card. Was hoping I could run at max sometime in the future.. (2 gtx780's in sli)
Well heck yes...best answer to a rant thread ever. And agreed, screens and VR will coexist indefinitely as both serve certain scenarios better (VR scenario - "wife and kid out of town, phone off the hook, fan on full blast pointed straight at head")
Few tears always works! Great news though, too get actual confirmation that is, that was actual confirmation I presume, it's just I remember mentioning to my Ex, on the odd occasion, you know, here and there, that she was curtailing my Sim racing (never hoovered around my pedals either!), still took her 13 years to get the message!
Would be really nice if it would happen. I'd really like to return to Raceroom. The sooner the better.
What's going on here? It's way past beer o'clock and you're still able to remember that thing from months ago? There's something...excuse me...fishy about that. ^^
Doubtful, at least until they move to the UE4 engine. From what I can read, attempts to run R3E with SLI have resulted in absolute bupkis. And I can't honestly see any major efforts being made towards getting it to run better with a new engine right around the proverbial corner. Then again, there's every possibility that I'm wrong.
