You choose if you want 6 or 7 gates + reverse. It depends if you drive many 7 gear cars or not i guess.
Nope, but I have put a G27 shifter on my son's Playseat Challange with angle and flat irons, so it should be possible to mount the SHH as well. (Talking about the shifter mount at 5:20)
my old shifter mount was a gutted PC case, it was just the right height, and the clamp fit in the empty drive bay I think the Pro Sim would crush the lawn seat challenge
Am I right in saying that even if you order a 6 it is still able to convert to a 7 with an additional plate?
I use a Fanatec shifter, and have it mounted on a playseat challenge. Was very simple to do in the end, and is really sturdy.
I would think they use the same internals and base, and only change what plates they send with it, but I'm not sure.
quite happy with my "C" note TH8A, it is a world apart from the G25 shifter I was using not sure how much better the Fanatec shifter could be honestly, one day I may get one, maybe P.S. I did use the money I saved to get some Fanatec CSR Elite load cell pedals A good H shifter is nice, REAL brakes are BETTER!!!!!
I'll throw in that I'm quite happy with my TH8A, I'm sure there's better options out there in terms of feel though. A big point in favor of the TH8A is it's rock solid design, this thing will take massive abuse on a daily basis and still keep on trucking for years. If durability is a concern the TH8A is the shifter for you.
one more thing in its favor is simplicity, there really isn't much that can break, just a magnet on a stick, the hall effect sensor is the only thing to go bad in one, and a new PCB with the sensor and wire is only $36 shipped from Thrustmaster (I checked with Thrustmaster support out of curiosity before buying mine) also why I got the Fanatec CSR Elite load cell pedals, instead of a load cell kit for my G25 pedals, the kit from Richmotech was around the same price as the CSR pedals, and a replacement load cell from Fanatec is only $20 if and when it ever goes bad, I really like stuff that is easily repaired cheap, (or doesn't break in the first place)
