When I drive the Formula US and going through a tight corner and the revs are low the car uses a very long time to get the revs up and the speed. Some time ago I reported a similar issue for the Audi GTO, but that got fixed. I assume this is also an issue and not by design. I tried to drive it around the Nürburgring GP and it was very slow around some slow corners when using autoshift.
Generally sounds like it might simply be the turbo lag. Maybe auto shift just leaves you a gear too high end then you end up hardly accelerating. Which corners are your main problems and what gear wrre you in if i may ask?
Just gave it a go in manual and with autoshift and didnt notice anything different, just the normal bit of turbo lag..
If that is so then autoshift for the Formula US is kind of useless. I hope that the developers have a look at it and sees if it is the same issue they found with the Audi GTO.
Well of course there is the difference of not having to shift But regarding corner exits the car didnt accelerate any faster/slower in one mode or the other. But if there actually was an issue with the audi that was just like this and later on fixed i guess we will indeed have to wait for a dev to reply, perhaps @Alex Hodgkinson (@ alex if you want me to stop tagging you whenever i feel like it might be your area of work just tell me )
I bought the Nissan Group C car and I Wonder if it also has the same issue to a degree. Coming out of the last chicane at Nurburgring GP I have to manual downshift to 1 gear when using autoshift to get maximum accelration. If the Formula US had an issue could the Nissan R90CK also have an issue with autoshift?
