Nah, that's just low risk approach. Low risk, low reward, since it will just contribute to further fragmentation of already fragmented market, where everybody drives the same set of cars, but in their own preferred sim. In order to carve their own piece of the market, one would have to offer something unique, while ideally avoiding the inevitable comparions that'll come with including the GT3 class. In order to have a huge success, you either need to be the first, or the best at something. It's extremely hard to become the best in GT3 with a new product at the moment. But maybe Rennsport will introduce something unique to the market after all, just not class-wise? Will it be enough to make it people's preferred GT3 sim when there are so many good GT3 sims already is another matter. If not, they'll become just another sim on the market.
GT3 is a good starting point, because it is fast enough to be thrilling, but easy enough to drive even for beginners/amateurs (basically, that's the point of the category). And it probably has the best manufacturer representation as well, so I completely get why every sim contains it. And it only needs a laser scanned Nordschleife to be relevant even next to ACC.
Yes, cannibalising an already niche market will likely mean less players for all games unless they are able to pull of an ACC type coup. They have 1 year to think up a USP apart from using UE5 as a graphics engine.
Vids from all the usual suspects are going live.. I've watched three of 'em, and they're all saying similar positive things - This certainly looks like one to keep an eye on. It looks like a fantastic event as well.
It will be hard to make place in an already crowded market with the same old boring track and car combinations that have been done to death elsewhere.
Well they do what the masses obviously want, just look at the RR ranked schedules (or at ACC alone for example) and which car& track combinations are predominatly in use...I find that quiet boring too, but thats the way it is.... Though from what I hear so far Rennsport has the main focus on (commercial) MP E-Sport events rather then the classic Single Player Concept combined with MP Lobbies for the average Simracer, right ? So that it is more directed at Tryhards and aspiring Pro-Drivers ? Which would be total unattractive to me no matter how fancy and shiny it might come along (correct me if I'm wrong)...
Well there goes or semi exclusive Praga then. I suppose Jimmy will wet his pants over it and forget raceroom exists again....
