Hey folks, I've tried streaming R3E to Twitch lately and I've run into issues with hitting 100% CPU usage causing lag and broken streams. I've noticed that R3E is chewing up 80%+ CPU, same issue in single player and multiplayer. So, what settings would have the biggest impact on CPU use? In case it makes any difference, here's my hardware specs; i5 2500K 8GB DDR3 RAM GTX 780 All running stock clock speeds, I'm not interested in overclocking.
Just ran a 24 car Audi TT Cup race at Spa. I noticed one core was hitting 75-80% usage at times but in the main it was 50-70%. Other cores were lower but still being utilised quite well. I do run a mild overclock (4GHz) but I don't think that would make much difference over stock speed. Not sure what the CPU-heavy settings are in this game to be honest. My video settings are maxed except: FXAA - off Motion Blur - off Car Reflections Quality - low Rear View Mirror Quality - medium Single 1080p display at 60Hz.
Thanks, I'll try replicate your settings and see how it fares. Thing is though, with 70-80% CPU use from R3E, even if it's in spikes, that makes the stream stutter and sometimes it even stops streaming, so I really would need to get the CPU use down by a significant amount to leave some overhead for encoding, webcam etc etc. I wish I had the funds to just upgrade my PC, but I'm not there yet, and won't be for a good while ><
