I wish ... I would also prefer the kia. It's the coolest looking tcr around imho. Edit: Also the kia is one of the newer cars and i dont think they were excpected to join wtcr. Hope i am wrong
Also i wanted to ask J-F. In Sector3 did you thought about some interesting licenses that could be great? For example: V8 supercars, that could be great, or Japanese Super GT just to go further in the racing series
No update thread would be complete without someone asking about offline multi-class racing! Any news on that, J-F? Ta.
Did you ever owned and driven NR4 and NR2003??? Naturally, iRacing is based on the code of NR2003, the last Papyrus sim, but NR2003 was just an update of NR4, which was sold as an independent sim (NR4 = Winston Cup 2000 simulation, NR2002 = Winston Cup 2002 simulation, NR2003 = Winston Cup 2003 simulation). There is no mistaking that Papyrus optimized the NR4 code for NR2002 and NR2003, that's why the use the last version of the code for their new project called iRacing. It was similar to "Race07" and "Race On" by SimBin … the same sim but with "different" contents … and now back to topic pls.
Personally I think the current engine is good enough - and more - to justify to not spending ressources on upgrading to an intermediate temporary "solution" when the strategic focus is on going for the U4E anyway once SimBin is done with GTR3. Invest said ressources in other parts of the sim until SimBin is done, or push the preparatory work for the transition, if possible. Its not as if RR as it is now is a wrecked car and we need a lend car to stay mobile for those few days until the broken car got repaired and returned. The Raceroom car, to stay in the metaphor, works perfectly well. Also, implementing a temporary new engine until U4E, nevertheless holds risks to break something.
As someone said in the RD forum. Its not a question of a pretty game. Its probabilly because of VR. Here is the original post.
Can we expect some new tracks also this year? Great news about UE4 and WTCR! I hope it will also improve tyre physics and add some new features like weather, etc. Btw, why there is no Safety car implemented in racing sim, yet?
Weather is unlikely going to happen anytime soon, its a lot of work to get it running, and right now the time is been spent in other areas. The most likely chance we see it in R3E is if they decide to move engines over to UE4, and even then it may not happen. Their little reason to have a safety car in a sim, in real life is often used to allow the movement of a broken or crashed car or to clean the track of broken carbon, none of those is an issue in RaceRoom as if a car crashed, or breaks, It can instantly be transported to the pits, and since the damage system does not have punctures or broken carbon parts, that again is a none issue.
I stand corrected, but using Oculus for RR, I do not see the point of needing to get more ressources for the current engine. What VR in RR as it is now needs, is a lock-to-horizon option.
I don’t understand those who do not want to see RaceRoom evolve on UE4 ! UE4 is an obligation for RR's future for the weather and the day / night cycle !
