Right, I was racing Formula Raceroom. At the second lap of the 15 lap race I collided and broke the front wing, I was forced to box to repair it. Now I was 34 seconds behind place 18 (I was 19th, 20th retired due to losing wheel after the collision with me). I kept on pushing and I thought I could get 18th if I wore out the tires until they will pop any second, I could gain a position or two. When I boxed I was wondering why the others didn't box. I kept on racing and the other guys never boxed. Why? How did all of them finish the race with well worn but not destroyed tires? I'm sure I didn't miss when they boxed because then I'd see them all as I drove by. At the end straight my tires popped even after pitting the I think 9-10th lap. Why didn't it happen for the others?
I meant, If I wore out the tires so much that I'd drive past the others when they boxed I could get a position or two. Not: "I kept on pushing and I thought I could get 18th if I wore out the tires until they will pop any second, I could gain a position or two."
Do you mean the f1 formula raceroom or formula 2 or 3? And assuming you mean f1 what tire compound were you on? And out of interest which track are we talking about?
If by compound 1 you mean the default one then its probably the softest. Any chance you remember the exact layout as well?
The AI always tends to use the harder compounds in the FR X-17. I also think they suffer less from tire wear.
When I try AI pit strategy with X-17 I got 52 laps in Hockenheim. AI starts on the hardest tires and they pit about 30th lap. Everything was okay, I dont use mandatory pit, or something special settings and AI pit automatically without any problem.
15 laps around there with a pitstop and your tires popped? What the hell were you doing? If i find the time ill run the same distance and see how much my tires wear but it shouldnt be anywhere near critical unless you had the multiplier on 2 or 3 then maybe ill run into some trouble if i dont stop
15 laps at raceroom bridge is a really short distance for destroyed tires. That's less then 15 minutes.
All the cars are shown with orange tyres on the grid shown before starting the race. It's better to go on the race monitor before selecting the "Start" option.
Now that ive gotten to do a quick test im really wondering what youre doing to those poor tires Did 15 laps around raceroom raceway bridge on the softest compound tire with the default setup (except for less fuel) and my left front got down to 67 wear while the other 3 were above 75. To pop a tire you have to hit 0 on that number as far as i know. And my great tire wear isnt down to lap times either. There are 33 leaderboard entries for this combo and p1 did a 51.7. Out of my 15 laps about 10 were in the high 50s with a best of 50.5. So id say you gotta have the tire wear multiplier on 3 for your tire popping to make any sense and then itd still be normal for the ai to be able to finish the race without pitting when they select the hard (or even medium) compound
Could use his lugs, makes a sort of high pitched EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER sound every time you brake apparently!
