It has a built-in fan, to adjust the motor temperature I think. But not to simulate air in a F1 car, if that was your question
Man... just a few days to go.... I have never used a direct drive in my life.... it's unbelieveable, I think I'm gonna get some sleeping problems x) ......
I'm gonna step out on a limb here but, I think you are going to love it. I haven't tried the Podium but, having a few years under my belt with a couple others, DD-wheels are awesome upgrades to be sure.
I'm currently at work, still 4 hours to go.... god damn it xD but I will make a YouTube video and write everything in the forum right here too
Sorry for the long wait, had to cable up everything and make it look perfect xD but now I'll write something here first, before editing a short video about the DD1 First impressions after a few minutes: The PSU exploded and burned my entire room down........ Just kidding I was impressed how smooth everything feels, I used the same settings like with my CSW 2.5 and felt right away at home. You feel that it is very fast and responsive (thats what it should be for a direct drive xD) Driving over the curbs in Raceroom feels like with a real car or like with real tires (hard to describe), it's awesome. You know what every tire does, you can spot every movement! On the other side, the CSW 2.5 does a very good job as well, it's actually not that far away from that direct drive (talking about the lower/normal FFB range) , but yeah the difference is still there ;D . Still have to test a few things and settings, if you got any questions feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer and implement this in my youtubevideo as well
Hey @muzikant , You have a little bit more road feel, but I wouldn't go that far and say that it is a completely new/better experience. (I don't have RF2 and AC, but I tried it in ACC a minute ago) But you have to keep in mind that I'm using basic setups right now, there will be a podium software, or what ever they will call it and with that it could be completely different again. Because you will have the option to adjust a lot of things with that (road feel as well) ... I think the software will be a game changer, right now it's not that big of a difference that I would say you have to go for a DD1, let's wait and see
I applaud your lack of cognitive dissonance. I think you're right and you'll have to wait for a DD-controller profile for R3E.
I also mounted and installed my DD1. Now setup new profile etc in R3E. Questions will come that's for sure
