$299 usa on amazon...pretty tempting. I don't need the pedals and would probably sell them to reduce cost. What are people's thoughts? Would be coming from a g27.
Sean I jumped from a G27 to a T500rs and the difference is remarkable. The T300 supposedly has better force feedback than the 500RS so I think it's a good jump. The pedals that come with that model are going to be better than the G27 pedals as well. If it had the shit two pedal system, then I'd say keep your G27 pedals, but those are actually pretty decent.
Same from this camp. I also switched from G27 to a T300 Alcantara, and it's for sure a huge leap. I hadn't foreseen an improvement this siginificant. Much more smooth, detailed and powerful ffb, and the steering wheel itself also surprised me in quality. I experienced a huge improvement on the pedals as well, especially with the rubber cone mod. Just have in mind that you probably have to adjust deadzone and sensitivity/linearity, as well as adjusting the rubber cone itself, to make it work properly and to your liking. I've set deadzone to 25% and brake sensitivity to 35%. Makes the pedal feel progressive relative to applied pressure instead of movement. Not as good as a load cell, probably, but very good considering the low cost. I also had to open up the pedal set and glue the gears to the pot shafts, becaused the one on the brake slipped half way off the shaft and caused the pedal to act funny. But that's probably just a stroke of bad luck with my particular set, and I've had no problems since I glued them. I also think the drivers are much better and more stable than the Logitech ones. No more sudden and unwanted changes in rotation range or anything else. I'd say go for it if you have the cash!
"Better FF" ?T500 has actually stronger Force-Feedback than the T300. Like 75% FF is 100% at the T300/TX.
Actually it is stronger Force Feedback 25%+ Juan - Force Feedback Power is stronger - Re-centering speed is stronger/faster. - Motorized stopper strength is stronger This is well known facts, and can be documented. The info is available for everybody. It is also easy to find out when tried both ;-)
Wow you just like to argue with everyone don't you? What both Juan and myself meant as far as better is that the feel is more detailed. We know the FFB is stronger on the T500 than on the T300.
- Well, FACT is a fact , Juan said "better, more detailed, not stronger" Just wanted to clarify, for not giving a wrong picture. I am not going for arguing. As an TM importer & resaler since 1995, i know the tech details and do have some experience. - have a great simracing day!
I bought it... Just have to wait a long while for it to get in stock and then get here...but in the mean time, I will make @MeMotS be nice to me, bc he thinks I will switch wheel rims with him ...which I might do if he lets me win every week or an offer I can't refuse
Bah, now I have to figure out what to do with my G27 shifter....I love the buttons! Can I still use it with the Thrustmaster?
Yes, I agree about the T3PA pedals, they are most the same as G27/29 pedals. - T3PA PRO pedals or Clubsport is a must i will say.
You can if you get this: http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=188
Just got the wheel in from a long back order. Have only taken a spin with it, but pretty impressed....I think /honeymoon phase
