Just reporting a bug I am experiencing with FR US @ indy The left engine audio seems to click in and out on the straights/oval, and isnt present when driving through out the midfield road course. It is very suttle but noticeable on the oval straights quite a bit I can mainly notice it when wearing headphones Edit: The issue seems to be on all tracks with the FR US. I think I have pin pointed the issue to be the engine noise is slightly panned to the right some how
This is actually a known issue, but sadly I dont know if it is possible to improve the audio much from here.
It's indeed a known issue that has been reported by the betatesters already. It's not a bug though, just a problem of stereo phase in the original recording. I used the best source I could find to create the FR US cockpit sound but it's also causing some problems that can't be resolved at the moment. The only solution is to replace this sound from another source, which is sadly not possible as all the onboard videos available on the net have a very bad audio quality. So, basically, we need to choose between the current "broken" sound and a replacement sound with bad audio quality. The main issue with Indycar is that they're racing in USA only, which prevents me to make a proper recording unless I travel there (not planned for now). Second issue is that these Honda and Chevrolet engines have a very specific sound and they're not used in any other series where I could grab some alternative onboard videos. I'll keep on looking for sources though but I'm also considering some other ways to fix it. I feel very concerned by this particular problem so I'll keep you updated as soon as I found a solution
Finally, I made a complete new cockpit sound using this video : Result is cleaner than the previous one and all the mentioned issues are gone. We will test internally and this new version might become public soon. Thanks for your patience
@Anthony Monteil thanks for the info! Im just glad you guys know about it and im not crazy hearing weird things!! hahaha now im no developer and no literally nothing about making video games, but is there an option to slightly pan the engine noise in the development software at all? Just thought maybe 5 degrees to the left would be an alright short term fix
Does the track come with your audio fix? pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!? And wow, F1 sure has a long way to go regarding accessibility via internet, YouTube etc. Indycar is very good in that regard.
