Problem 52GB later and still black screen with audio in VR mode

Hello...downloaded RRE and it opened just fine in regular mode. Followed the instruction to play in VR and all I get is a black screen but I can hear the audio.

I tried doing the validate file thing but it was just stuck at 0% forever.

Deleted, re-downloaded and still black screen with audio in VR mode. This time validation worked, was fine but still black screen with audio.

I'm about to throw my PC out the window.

i7700K
Asus GTX1080
Asus IX Code mobo
32GB GSkill Ram

 

Can you tell us the steps you've done to go in VR-Mode?
Which VR-Headset do you have?

 

I seem to remember a few people having the issue where they were in front of the UI, which was fixed by loading in normal mode, setting the VR centre key and then enabling VR again.
When they pressed the recenter key, this moved them back in front of the UI, and no more black screen.

Could it be that issue?

ah, didn't even think of looking around to see if the main screen was behind me like a couple games main UI screens have been doing recently. Will try what you mention a little later.

 

Make sure to map that recenter button first

 

BEWM! That was it! I set VR Center in normal mode, went into the game, black...hit the button and UI in front of me now!
