Hello guys, it seems like there is a "bug" (or a miscalculation) in the fuel use in the DTM Experience 2015. I set the race lenght to 15 minutes, and after these 15 minutes I had some fuel left, but in the DTM Experience there is another lap added to the race after the race time is over, and for this last lap there is not enough fuel. Me and all the AI cars ran out of fuel on the last lap...
Thanks, actually doesn't matter which track. Just tried @ RBR and ran out after 7 and a half minutes. They're looking into it as we speak.
Oh, and I think there is another litte mistake with the DTM cars and fuel use: In the first laps the fuel stays at 100L and I believe the reason is that DTM cars have tanks with ~120L, the number 100 starts do decrease after a few laps. Is it possible to set the number higher than 100 because obviously there are more than 100 litres in the tank?
I suffered this bug myself in the first race after buying the DTM 2015 pack. Any news on the fix? For the time being, will I be ok assuming that all tracks will just require 1 more lap of fuel to be added manually before I start the race, or am I better running with fuel sim off?
Here's a screenshot from the pre-race car setup menu for Hockemheim DTM 2015: Doesn't matter which car. Shame there's still no fix as the 'experience' is a broken one.
What's broken about that? The experiences have varying fuel usage depending on your session length. You will need to put in more fuel than 50L for a race.
That screenshot was before a race. Do you know how much fuel a DTM Audi uses on a lap of Hockenheim? (I have no idea). By that screenshot it's about 7 litres. Here's a screenshot of the same car and race setup (Audi RS 5 DTS 2015 Hockenheim, 30 minutes race) in 'raceroom' mode: So how can 50 litres last 7 laps in one Hockenheim race and 15 laps in another Hockenheim race?
The fuel usage is dynamically related to race length. Shorter races mean you use more fuel so you always have to start with the same fuel load.
Jokes aside, ^this. The problem is that the automatic multiplier, which depends on race length (shorter race, higher multiplier, more usage) has been disabled in RR Experience, so there the multiplier is always set to 1 atm. Goal is to have the multiplier as a manual setting also in SP, just like in MP. If you chose 1 hour duration, the usage should be the same.
@Matt Awesome What @majuh and the others say is true. Fuel usage and tire wear rates are decided by the session length. These multipliers used to be the norm in all of the experiences but it has been phased out in the RaceRoom Experience and will eventually not be used at all.
I like the multipliers effect. Will it be replaced with the option of manually choosing to increase fuel and tyre wear?
I should point out that I don't drive in real life and I am not a car geek, so it probably is down to my lack of knowledge, but I really don't see how that can be true. Maybe there's something about race car fuel usage I don't understand, but in my logic a shorter race should mean less fuel. Please correct me if I'm wrong - and remember, there are no stupid questions, just stupid people, in this case that person seems to be me .
Specifically, in shorter races the multiplier is higher as to allow players to actually have to deal with tire degradation and fuel shortage in short sessions as well as long ones. As pointed out above though, this is changing.
I understand about multipliers for races of different lengths. What I still don't understand is why (as my screenshots show) 50 litres last 7 laps in one 30 minute Hockenheim race and 15 laps in another 30 minute Hockenheim race. The race lengths are the same. Are fuel flow rates different for some reason?
