For the second round of the season, the eSports WTCC went to Hungary. The Hungaroring features a completely different profile compared to Monza, with a much lower average speed, chicanes and long, sweeping corners. Division 2 entered the track first, and it was an exciting race through and through. Nikita Shaposhnik took pole position, but he dropped back after a lightning start by Daniel Nieto. Nieto led the entire race, but on the final lap, Shaposhnik found his way through and took the win in his Citroen. Nieto had to settle for second, with Lars Hinrichs rounding out the podium.

When the first division started the qualifying, it first looked like the new French team Virtualdrivers by TX3 would start into the season with locking out the front row, but Julian Kunze fought back and took his second pole position of the season. At the start, Kunze was passed by Thomas Petitjean with an aggressive move in the first corner. Petitjean, Kunze and Alexander Dornieden started to gap the field, despite battling hard and sharing a bit of paint every now and then. Behind them, Tanguy Pedrazzoli tried his best to keep the Volvos of Jan Stange and Gergo Baldi behind him. Towards the end of the race, it got very close. Baldi collided with Pedrazzoli, sending the Frenchman out of the top 10. Dornieden meanwhile passed Kunze, and for a moment it looked like he could get past Petitjean as well who was suffering from tyrewear. But when Dornieden had to defend from Kunze, it was decided: Petitjean won the race ahead of Dornieden, Kunze, Stange and Márk Nándori.

For the second race, with the top 10 reversed, Bence Bánki from Slovakia started on pole position. But right at the start, the Smile Power Racing driver lost the lead to Baldi, and also lost second to Nikodem Wisniewski. Alexander Dornieden's race already ended on the first lap after contact with Petitjean. At the front of the field, Baldi played out all of his experience and controlled the race. But further behind, Jan Stange finally put his mark on the season. With fantastic overtakes, he got past Butcher and Bánki and moved up into third. Passing Wisniewski was a bigger task, but eventually Stange got him around the outside in turn 2. The time was running out though to catch Baldi, who took his first win of the season, the first win for Volvo in Division 1 and for his team Wauters Automotive, ahead of Impact Racing's Stange and FEEDER Ragnar Simulator's Wisniewski. Bánki and Kunze rounded out the top 5 after a tough fight.

Despite his DNF in race 2, Dornieden managed to take the lead of the championship ahead of Nandori and Kunze. Baldi moved up into 4th, with Tim Heinemann still 5th despite missing this round.
